A friend of mine asked them if it´s possible to get a copy and the answer was yes. As far as I know, they charged 20 Euro. That´s all I know, I hope it helps!

Hi Ole, thanks for the exciting information! However, I am Dutch, and I went to vpro.nl to look for the DVD and couldn't find it. Can you be more specific? Do they have a webstore?
Thanks!

Does anyone know if any of the older 16HP videos or European broadcast documentaries were ever transferred to or released on DVD? Of particular interest is the Dutch "Preacher" documentary, still one of the best insights into DEE's life? Any helpful advice would be appreciated, thanks!
My wife and I have been fans of 16 Horsepower since the beginning (well, since
Sackcloth
and Ashes). For us, they're one of the few bands we can agree on. We've seen
them in Los
Angeles on several occasions over the years and the boys have never, ever failed
to
deliver. You know that their performances are always the best they're capable
of: This is a
band of impeccable and unimpeachable integrity.
Let me add that though I'm very comfortable with my own atheism I have never
failed to
have been moved by DEE's evangelism: He makes me wish I could believe. (It may
not be a
conversion but, hey, it's pretty good!)
My wife was so moved after the Spaceland gig she gave Pascal a hug on our way
out. (BTW,
she asked him first. She's from the south, that's what they do.)
Also: The second band of the night, Silver...? (Anyone remember?), was great.
Three Asian
chicks and two lily white dudes with an interesting and transcendent twist of
shoe-gazing
(I use the term advisedly). Usually I'm not thrilled by dirges in clubs but
these guys
brought
something new to it. I loved the sound of the triangular Japanese banjo thing.
My only complaint: I understand that Woven Hand is the group's act of moving
forward,
but would it kill 'em to throw in a little For Heaven's Sake or American Wheeze?
Would
people forgive Sinatra for not throwing them a little My Way? My best memories
of past 16
Horsepower performances are in the way the audience erupts after DEE teases with
a bit of
slide guitar feedback or a long bandoneon groan before he bangs out the openings
of the
songs he knows we all want to here. Yeah, that would've been nice.
God bless 'em.
Deiter
P.S. I'm new to the group, so I may've missed this, but how do people feel about
Briertone?
Anyone heard the new Levon Helm album? Alela Diane?
Hey Doug, Thanks for the info. Wow, sounds like an interesting evening. I forwarded your email to my partner in crime , just to let him know what we missed out on. Thanks, again. I wonder if they will ever go back to 16 H.P. type of tunes?
I forgot my bleedin' camera! I saw some people holding up their cell phones and shaky video cameras so there should be some utter crap posted on YouTube!
The show had a rough start with some technical issues with Pascal's bass rig and DEE's old timey mic but they just rolled on. The buzzing and rumbling from the bass amp was distracting for while but either it stopped or I was once again transported to another place by the music. I wasn't sure about how it was going to be without Peter but, they were still so powerful! I'm really bad with song titles, sorry. Whistling Girl was the only DEE solo song. The big surprise was the first encore song was an insane version of 16HP's Horsehead Fiddle. It must have lasted 12-15 minutes and was such a wild, noisy, emotional explosion! Pascal and DEE played with slides rather than violin bows and proved such
artistry. It was as beautiful to watch as it was to hear. In case you're going, DEE sits stage left not in the center. Ordy had a stripped down 3 or 4 piece kit and shows that is all he needs with as much skill as he possesses.
It was a great time and I'm so glad that I was able to make it.(and sorry that you weren't able to, Rob.
I love hearing comments after the show by folks in the audience. There was a guy talking to a friend who apparently hadn't heard them before. He was saying to his bewildered looking friend, "See? It's hard to explain, right?" Outside I heard a girl say, "I feel like I've been to church! I found God!"
Doug
PS- The first opener, Blue Giant, was a really good band. Nothing like Woven Hand musically kind of a Wilco meets Tom Petty feel (that is a lame description, sorry). Bought their EP at the show. The husband and wife who are the band Viva Voce head up Blue Giant. You can check them out on My
Space.

HALLELUJAH!! !
See you in Innsbruck and Vienna! Also I try to attend some shows in Germany!! Anyone on this list who also attends the two shows in Austria?? ...
Okay, those shots got me excited about the the show this Thursday! Also answered my question of whether Peter is going to be at the show. I've seen some recent video on You Tube with him playing but he's absent in these shots.
Thanks for the link!

These are good. Guy who shot them said it was one of his favorite shows of the last 15 years.
thank you - I was at work when I wrote that and they have myspace

There's at least one "must see/can't miss" at SXSW.
