A lot of thanks to joshua*, lindsay moore and Pepe the King Prawn for
their reactions. They certainly helped clear certain things up.

I've become a member of banjohangout.org, which is indeed a very
interesting and useful site. I've also found a banjo dealer here in
The Netherlands and he will send me a list of the banjo's he currently
has for sale.

I'm still not sure what type of banjo I would like most, but I figure
I'm just going to pay him a visit and play as many different banjo's
as I can and then hopefully it will become clear which one I really want.

First post here!  Great topic...I've just been playing banjo for
about half a year, and 16H songs are the main thing spurring me on.
I love the playing on the Secret South album--the playing on Straw
Foot and Wayfaring is undoubtedly clawhammer, and I'm looking for tab
arrangements of the banjo parts for them.  Did a quick tab
approximating Straw Foot, but it just doesn't sound right.  Random
addendum: I'm working out a version of Horse Head in eDGBd tuning,
has a nice drone quality to the e-string.  There's probably a more
sensible tuning for the song, but this has a character I like.
Anybody know sites where DEE's clawhammer arrangements might be
tabbed out?

And ditto on the plug for www.banjohangout.org!  I love the forum and
lessons there, I'm learning a lot.

find some sites with 16HP guitar tab in the links section:

One gripe with 16H tabs on the web: seems like people have only
posted chord progressions on any of the major tab sites, not actual
guitar tab arrangements.  I posted some bass tab files on OLGA a
while back, I think they were Black Bush, Blessed Persistence and
Neck on the New Blade, all pretty simple bass parts.  Just checking
to see if anyone on this messagegroup might have some extra info!

i just noticed that glitterhouse lists "16 horsepower - tba" on their
upcoming releases list. no time frame given, but good news
nonetheless :-)

also, a willard grant conspiracy dvd .... hmmmm... i want that.

I turned on the radio last night, only to hear the sounds of Passion Fodder's
"Happy New Year" fill my car. Though the dj did give some info about PF after
the song ended, he did not mention what Pascal and Jean-Yves are currently up
to. So, I gave him a call and we chatted a bit about 16hp and Woven Hand, and
at the next info break he ammended his previous comments (he also referred to
me as a "delicious lady," whatever that might mean). Just one more reason to
add to the long list of why V89 is the best radio station (and not just in
Tallahassee).

And if anyone cares, 16hp would do well to play in Tallahassee sometime. I've
come across more fans here than any of the places I've lived before (New York
and D.C.). Of course, by the time they do (if they do), I'll probably be living
in Europe.

and hey:  i care.  i want 16hp to play here.  i've emailed the booking agent
before (like a year ago), and i'd be willing to do it again.  we should send
them info on club downunder (that would be the best place for them to play), and
get cdu to contact them as well.

what i wouldn't give to finally see 16hp live.  especially in my town.

You're right, SuperSnakeBait. It's brand new DVD they say, released
on march 1, 2005. I just ordered it.
