Hi Andy,
The show was never mentioned on the borderline webpage for some reason, but it's
certainly going to happen.
You can buy tickets from:

Oooops, I overlooked that L in front of the date. Thanks for
pointing it out. Unfortunately, the date is a bit unfortunate for
me, though it would be nice to see one gig in Luxembourg.
Best wishes

This makes me wondering, how do you forsee this group in the future
if 16 Horsepower equals 0 (zero, zilch) horsepower? Will you change
the name? Delete the group?

No problem. For those of you on Livejournal there's a 16HP community
over there too. Not that I want anyone to abandon this group, but I
know that different people enjoy different fan community formats.
That was exactly what I thought when I learned this sad news yesterday.
I started to get aquainted with the tunage of 16hp around this time
five years ago. I've been really listening to them A LOT over the
last three years. Some bands/artists/CDs lose their luster after a
time, but this band's music just never gets old to me. I've checked
the concerts page frequently to see of maybe they might play within a
day's drive of Atlanta, but to no avail. I have memory of the great
show at the Cotton Club in 2000 as my only live experience. It was
great, but I'd hoped to see them again now that I'm quite familiar
with the songs.
Fortunately for us, DEE will continue putting out quality music in
other forms, so we will have that at least.

Alrighty, folks.
I've started up a group for 16 Horsepower over at MySpace. This isn't
to undermine Heather's marvelous work, of course.

Join up, if'n you want.
People who complain about the way other people react to the demise of
the band will not be appreciated.

So who could it be?

I wish them all well, but i can't help feeling i know who's

Yesterday evening i was reading the music news on dutch television
when i read an article about 16HP. I was shocked to learn that they
announced their ending. Because of political and spiritual
differences. Is this the reason that david started WOVEN HAND a few
years ago?. Because he divided his time between 16HP and W.H. A lot of
questions are left for me. I was allready looking forward to the next
16HP album. But sorry;NO MORE!. Mayby they have some things left that
they haddent released yet,you never know. At least i was happy to hear
that they will go on with WOVEN HAND and LILLIUM. Now with more time
he could start a new project? Well the future time will learn what
will happen. For now their DVD is the farewell present to us. The band
gave me a lot of great music that i will play for the years to come.
And the memory,s of the concerts i seen will stay with me forever. I
would like to thank them for all they gave me.
with lots of love from MICHAEL VAN DEN BOSCH NETHERLANDS.
Greetings....
As a form of self-therapy, I shall submit a dreaded post.... ;-)
But first, a ~sigh~
The hope....
I echo the thoughts of those being hopeful of the future with Lilium, Wovenhand,
or whatever else that stems from the 16HP seed. Much potential.
The truth....
I must also be realistic by facing the fact that none of these offspring
projects will carry the energy, chemistry, and aura of the three boys known as
16 Horsepower. I've seen enough Wovenhand shows to realize this.
The coincidence....
Two weeks ago, I *FINALLY* had an old 16HP concert announcement placard
professionally framed in glass and hung on my bedroom wall. The placard was from
my first 16HP show in 1996 at the Fox Theater in Boulder, Colorado.
Unbeknownst to me, that show turned out to be the figurative "bookends" of my
time with 16HP.
The irony....
The dark, haunting feel of one's spiritualism helped make the band great.
Powerful. Real. ....but, it also [apparently] led to the band's demise.
Time to tip the whiskey glass....in honor of a great band and in honor of all
the great people that I've crossed paths with while following this
band....online, at shows, etc. It's been a good 10 years!
Bottom's up,
Don

They gave us 12 awesome years of music, 9 of which I have been lucky enough
to be around for. 16 Horsepower is my favorite band, and while this is the
end of an era, I really do respect their decision. Sometimes it's just time
for things to be finished. This is one of those times.
I first heard 16HP when I was 16 years old, sitting in my
then-friend-now-husband's car facing downhill on S. Cole Street in Morrison,
CO (I can picture it pretty vividly). I remember thinking that they were
amazing and that they would change my life. The truth is really not far from
that. I'm thankful.

Greetings everyone
Just another email from another fan to say how sad i am. Even though i had seen
this a long way coming and expressed this on this very mailing list, this is
still a huge blow. It was pretty obvious for all to see this is where they were
heading... they recorded 'folklore' before the first woven hand but they didn't
release it because PH and JYT had had enough of touring and didn't want to play
live in support of it... Then they released the first demos... a sort of tying
of loose ends and bringing the band full circle... It was obvious that was the
end... Then a retrospective DVD if even more proof was needed. This really
doesn't come as a surprise.
Only the news from glitterhouse that there'd be a brand new 16HP album out in
late spring seemed to give me unexpected hope. maybe the signs were misleading
after all... but they weren't. all hope now is that there is one final album of
brand new material to be released. The greatest band that has ever been
deserves to go out with something more than a re-issue of their demos and a
retrospective dvd. i sincerely hope we get to hear that.
I have to say i didn't appreciate the handful of people sending their RIP
messages. No-one's died ok. Just a group of musicians/friends going their
separate ways. I wish them all well, but i can't help feeling i know who's
responsible for this.
I'm thankful for all 16HP have given me, the albums, the gigs, everything. I
feel i am a better person because of their music. A big thanks to David,
Jean-Yves, Keven Soll, Steven Taylor, Pascal, Bob Febrache and anyone else
involved. Words cannot describe the magnitude and poignancy of your work.

I want to take this time to thank the band for the most amazing music. I also
would love to join a Myspace group if anyone does form one. Maybe this entire
yahoo group could be invited & I'd join for sure.
What wonderful music we all were able to share & love!! We have been blessed....
Thanks 16HP.

Not only am I deeply saddened by this news, but I'm feeling a bit resentful and
discouraged that one of the best live bands of all time spent the final 5 years
of their existence staying away from the West Coast, thus making it impossible
for me to see them. I know this is a fairly self-centered comment, but I need
to express it. I hope those of you in Europe took advantage of every
opportunity to see them...
I respect and understand their decision. I know it must be hard for everyone
involved. I'm also heartbroken that it's over. I've almost never felt this way
about a band. I'm a bit amazed that I feel this emotional...
done venting. Thank you David, Jean-Yves, and Pascal for being one of the most
important musical groups of my life.
Bobby
Sad news indeed. I first heard of them thru an article in World
Magazine (www.worldmag.com <http://www.worldmag.com/> ) years ago. When
I finally heard them for the first time, I thought "this is the musical
version of Flannery O'Conner". As a Christian, I appreciated their take
on how faith works out in life, with its ups and downs. I appreciated
their blending of different musical styles into something that was
uniquely theirs. While I know that DEE will still be doing solo stuff,
there is something about the passing of the band that is irreplaceable,
even in DEE's solo/Woven Hand stuff.
