Clatu Parada to you all!
Is/Was this rumour true:
"Calexico and Iron & Wine are touring their joint EP "In The
Reigns." Tonight (yesterday - 26th October!!) they are playing the
Denver Fillmore Auditorium. KVCU, Boulder's Radio 1190, announced
that Woven Hand will be the surprise opening act. Well, there goes
that surprise. But there may be another one. Calexico and Iron &
Wine each play their own sets, then a mutual one during which they
welcome a special guest on stage from the city they are visiting.
And rumour has it that David Eugene Edwards will be that mystery
guest. The show starts at 7.30 PM. Be there and be or act surprised."
Is there anybody out there who can confirm this??
If this rumour was true - this must have been an amazing show!!
Cheers,
Alex
Bloodshot Records will soon release a new compilation - For A Decade
of Sin. This compilation includes the 16 Horsepower track
"De-Railed," which is a cover of a Rainer Ptacek song. "De-Railed"
first appeared a few years ago on the "Splinters" single. The
Bloodshot compilation will be released on October 25 in the U.S.

For A Decade of Sin: 11 Years of Bloodshot Records

1994: The year that saw, amidst a spasm of hubris, boredom and
naivete, the release of Bloodshot Records' first CD, the compilation,
For A Life of Sin. 11 years and 125 releases later, we've learned some
hard lessons and spent many a sleepless night wrestling in the venal
snake pit that is the music industry.
To celebrate the improbable accomplishment of surviving in this
racket, we've bypassed the usual retrospective route and hammered out
a 42 song, 2 disc collection with a 24-page color booklet featuring
only NEW and PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED TRACKS. On board are current and
past members of the Bloodshot family like Bobby Bare Jr., The Bottle
Rockets, Waco Brothers, Kelly Hogan, Old 97s, Wayne Hancock and Graham
Parker, good friends we've made along the way like Sixteen Horsepower,
Richard Buckner, Minus 5, Crooked Fingers, Mary Lou Lord, Cordero,
Blanche, Handsome Family and My Morning Jacket, and a few folks we've
long admired like Dr. Ralph Stanley, John Doe, Hank Williams III and
Petty Booka.
Disc 1:
1. Blood Sweat & Murder (Scott H. Biram)
2. De-Railed (Sixteen Horsepower)
3. Glass of Wine (Paul Burch & Ralph Stanley)
4. Close Your House Down (Cordero)
5. Ocean Size (Bobby Bare Jr.)
6. Behind That Locked Door (My Morning Jacket)
7. The Plan (Matt Mays & El Torpedo)

14. No Way Out But Down (Graham Lindsey)

17. Where Are All Of My Friends? (Deadstring Brothers)
18. Chicken Road (Kelly Hogan & The Wooden Leg)
19. Shake A Tail Feather (Andre Williams & The Sadies
20. Tearin' My Hair Out (99 Tales)
21. Love Train (The Yayhoos)

Going to Spain to find some song, dance and wine...
All the things I can't seem to enjoy in my Belgian homeland.
Last worthwhile thing: David E. playing the Vooruit venue in Ghent twice.
Magically trancy!
Wow really? Do you ski or mountain bike at all? Well far as me I do and love
to go to the piper down to support our local bands.

Soundsfamilyre must have terribly underestimated the demand for these
shirts or Woven Hand has become very popular all of the sudden...hope
they make more..if not..that is pretty much a joke.

I'd like to get another one. I got David to sign my 16hp shirt at the
chicago show, so you know I can't wear that one now! ha
I ordered a wovenhand shirt this week, those are really nice.

hi to you,
what a nice surprise to read that name again: NEW MODEL ARMY. in the early
nineties I was a big fan of them. I bought their 12 first records and saw a
few gigs of them, but in the past years I did not follow that group
anymore. although they were great and very special!
Now, now the lights go out, there's no warning!
enjoy them!

Hi Tomas and hi at all, I'm an Italian boy and a new
member of this ML.
I've seen WovenHand at Sziget Festival in Budapest in
august, and I have the set list.
I have a photo, can I post it here?
I have read the YOUR RUSSIA's lyric, but it isn't the
last song that Edward have played.. someone know what
song was it? I have a little video of that song played
solo with buzuki.

Hey everyone, I posted a handful of pics from the Wovenhand show in
Boston (Cambridge, actually) at the Lizard Lounge. I have some more
if everyone is interested.
Thank you very much! I have some very nice pictures from Dresden, so if
anyone is interested I can put it in the files or send it directly...
