For those who are interested.....you can watch the film now online.
I've ordered from Glitterhous several times and I'm in NA. As long as you indicate where you're ordering from there never seems to be an issue, and you usually get your order fairly quickly. Good site...

Dear friends and lovers of DEE's "uncomfortable faith" and his pure, believing heart,
CHRIST IS BORN!

In Orthodox Tradition, every evening we call Jesus Christ the "Quiet Light". I wish the Quiet Light shines the souls of all of you and your hearts be moved and changed by His presence and filled with His Spirit!
Dear friends and lovers of DEE's "uncomfortable faith" and his pure, believing heart,
CHRIST IS BORN!
GLORIFY HIM!
In Orthodox Tradition, every evening we call Jesus Christ the "Quiet Light". I wish the Quiet Light shines the souls of all of you and your hearts be moved and changed by His presence and filled with His Spirit!
With love in Christ,
Borislav
He hath taken on my body, so that I be made capable to have within myself His Spirit
The Creator shaped man with His own hands, but when He saw us perishing eternally, He bowed the heavens and came down to earth, and clothed Himself completely in our nature, truly incarnate from a pure and holy Virgin, for He has been glorified!
Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee.
Wisdom, and Word, and Power, Christ our God is the Father's Son, His Radiance.
He was made man, a mystery concealed from every spirit above or on the earth.
He has won us for Himself, for He has been glorified!
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Bethlehem has opened Eden: come let us see!
We have found joy in a secret place: come, let us seize Paradise hidden in the cave!
There the unwatered Root has appeared, blossoming with forgiveness.
There is found the undug Well, from which David longed to drink of old.
There the Virgin has borne a child, quenching Adam's and David's thirst.
Let us hurry to this place, where the Eternal God was born as a little child!
I behold a strange, most glorious mystery! Heaven-the cave!
The cherubic throne-the Virgin! The manger-the place where Christ lay,
the uncontainable God, Whom we magnify in song!
Magnify, O my soul, God born in the flesh, from the virgin.
Our Savior, the dayspring from the East, has visited us from on high, and we, who were in darkness and shadow, have found the truth, for the Lord is born of the Virgin!
And so, the Nativity hymns remind those praying how, during this memorable night, each creature hastened to bring its gift to the Saviour-King: heaven - a star; the earth - a cave; the wilderness - a manger; the angels - singing; the shepherds - worship; the Magi - gifts. Therefore, we too should not come to Him "empty-handed," but should bring to Him what is more valuable than anything else - our pure, believing hearts. For the high God has appeared on earth, in order to raise us up to heaven!
"Glory be to the Father To the Son and the Holy Ghost As it was in the beginning Is now and ever shall be His word without end Amen Amen"

Hi guys, i have finally sorted my mail accounts out so that i can reply to all this great stuff.
This was brilliant said Kirkesque, just brilliant. I feel it in the exactly same way, the music scares me and comforts me in the very same moment. It is such a religious experience for me that i really cant explain. I mean, i can`t imagine a more frightening and intense song than "Strong Man". It feels great to hear that someone has somewhat the same thoughts.

I've been reading and thinking and such dangerous ilk as that, and
thought I'd add something again to the discussion of faith and belief
and the music of DEE. I had an off-list missive that got me thinking
again about the relationship between DEE and his music and us (the
listeners) to his music and how it all connects to the same source.
Or not, depending on your point of view and referentional position of
belief.
The 16hp.net site (spelled in full, of course) used o have an article
that cited the Bible verses of references in DEE's lyrics. I always
really liked that article, and now that it's gone, wish I had copied
it before the site did their makeover last year (or was it earlier
this year? hmmm...). I used that once when I had knew little more
about 16hp than having seen them a few times, and I told a couple of
friends about how I noticed there were an incredible amount of Bible
references in their music. Despite my friends' intellect and eye for
such things, they had completely overlooked this detail amongst the
power of the music in general. I started exploring. Seeking.
Finding strings in the dark labyrinth...
When the discussion of spirit and faith arose here, my first thought
was: I wonder why no one's brought this up before? And eagerly
devoured the conversation. I've been searching through old links I
have for 16hp articles, and came across one of the oldest from the
.net site.
In this article is the most direct mention I've encounter as to the
reason DEE does what he does.
"I make my music for people who *don't* believe in God. I think what
I'm supposed to do is pretty much scare the shit outta people. And I
really hope I do, because maybe that's what they need."
I've always been attracted to the fall and redemption DEE portrays in
his music. Like... Johnny Cash (who was probably the first musician I
ever heard because my mom was playing his music before I was born, and
almost continually thereafter), DEE doesn't tell you what's good and
bad about *your* life, just tells of his own faults and hopes and sins
and salvations. Which, of course, happen to be those which befall a
lot of us. Most of us, perhaps. Which, to me, is comforting. To
know that someone else, somewhere, somewhen, has felt that way, been
in the dark space, and struggle to find the way out again; been into
the abyss, as it were, and brought back a hellish tale -- set in
brimstone music -- and sung with the fiery words of God. And heard by
hosts of slumming angels deguised as "ordinary people". Us, maybe...
I have sat at the edge of the stage and seen his foot flailing. The
Spirit possessing him.
These are the reasons I weep in hearing this music. I know it is from
the heart and soul of the singer. And touches the hearts and souls of
those who would listen. This is no candycane Christian radio pop.
This is the hellfire of Armageddon shown on a tapestry of an
individual's life. And the individual may well be each person who
hears.
"I don't make my music for people who believe in God to get together
and dance around. I think that's fine, and if God wants you to make
that kind of music, then good, go for it. But that's not the kind of
music I'm supposed to make."
DEE, your uncomfortable faith gives comfort for many. And that is a
holy endeavor by almost any belief.
thank you for listening. reading. whathaveyou.

to me, it was just great that he covered a dylan song
and I kind of think of any song, it fits the mood of
the album best because it comes from that nostalgic
and abrstract place concerning childhood
memories..'praying arm lane' make a lot of reference
to children but specifically I'm thinking of 'just
like birds' ....
Now stay close to me
In an amongst the trees
I'll carry your shoes child
You run an play beneath the eaves
that's such beautiful imagery so similar to me as
dylans
Used to run in the cemetery
Dance and run and sing when I was a child
anyway, I originally started this thread w/ the whole
idea that Secret South stood a little outside of
16hp's body of work and was more of a personal less
accessable work....but man I have to agree what a
beautiful album, with beautiful lyrics. too bad the
lyrics on the disc are unreadable
Caleb (presently in cold cold north Idaho)
Is anything as lovely to me
As the truth in love
I'll take it over freedom any day
It brings me ever an this time to my knees
An on my knees I run away
sounds like something you should say in a philosophy
class ;)

The European edition also has 'Ditch Digger' which is truly awsome. I don't think it's on the US edition.
While we're discussing this, the EU edition of 'Sackcloth..' also includes Haw, but i personally like it better in the context of the EP.

I'd love to know what the differences are between the Blush Score and Blush

The DVD says "region free" and "NTSC" on the back, and I just double-checked
it by looking at the .IFO files on the disk itself (which also indicate
NTSC). It should play with no problem in any U.S. DVD player.

I have been listening to an album that would never be known as
"Christian music" unless pointed out, or having previous knowledge of
the musicians. Matt & Bubba Kadane's soundtrack to "Hell House".
Hell House is a documentary about an evangelical church in Texas that
puts on a haunted house every Hallowe'en that is geared to scare
people away from abortion, drugs, occult things, etc... My lady and I
watched the documentary and thought... blah... but were blown away by
the music in it. The Kadanes were part of the Austin, Tx bands
Bedhead and The New Year. Their music sounds a bit like a southern
Velvet Underground playing Sigur Rรณs tunes.
