probably about 45 mins to an hour. they don't have enough material to
warrant a set longer than that anyway, i think. but my bro (the big
young greaser guy) works at lou's and he estimated about 45-60 mins.
everybody: next time you're in lou's say hi to the greaser guy, and tell
him mr. white sent you. :)
also, i just saw that pinback is playing the che cafe on Dec 18th.

Yeah, I'd probably say Another Sea is my favorite because it's the most
diverse sounding (just look at 'South' for example). But really, you're
making a mistake if you ever pass up anything they put out.
by the way j, do you know how long Pinback is gonna play wednesday? I got a
class at 5pm (in el cajon), so I might be cuttin it close.

I like the last album best, another desert another sea. I think they did a
great job of centering the whole album around the theme of water. Each
song flows into each other and it's great from beginning to end.

Holy snot, Eric, DO NOT limit yourself to buying only one full length. You
need to possess ALL of them. You also must own all of the Blackheart
Procession and Pinback stuff. Only then will you be prepared for greatness!

I've decided to find most of my gifts on the net this year. The bad thing
is I want everything.
I want to find stuff that is only available on the net, you know, the guy
next door who is making a bizarre trinket and selling on the net.
I bought a shirt from http://www.ihateclowns.com and was very pleased with
the service.
I'm also making my list from the gift shop at the L.A. Coroners office:
http://www.lacoroner.com/catalog1.html
There's also a great package at http://www.doodie.com
Now i've got to figure out who I give the toetag t-shirt to, or the doodie
a day bumper sticker.
Have you found any wacky places to shop on the net?

ok... I've joined this list recently and have been
lurking as I've had nothing to say. I saw the book, by
the way. Very nice. I'll spread the word. :)
the "unofficial" 3mp site is going through some changes
and is now found at: http://hummusandpita.com/pilot/
and here is the 'message' found there (just in case
anyone still needed any reassurance)
News:
11/11/99 -
Just wanted to let everybody know that three mile pilot is still
very much alive. We our planning on getting together this
december to start work on our 4th album. We simply have
taken a break, and pursued our other bands Pinback and The
Blackheart Procession . I'm also takin' over this site so we will
now be able to be more in touch. - Armistead -

I guess the moral of the story is: don't believe everything
you read in the Dreambook ;)

I've been depressed for a week over the news of the 3 Mi Pi break up. Check my
email, today, to find that the rumor was false. Nietzche was wrong--God is not
dead! I'm sure I'll probably still never get to see them play, live--they never
come to Ohio, nor does Black Heart Procession. But as long as they're still
putting stuff out that I can keep in my stereo til I'm 90, I'll deal...I'm not
sure that I have anything any of you would be interested in, but I'd love to do
some tape trades in exchange for Pinback or rare 3 Mi Pi tracks.

cool. i've got a nice pinback SBD if anyone's interested.
also, a friend of mine works at a music trader, and one of his
co-workers got a call from capitol eecords. the exec basically said,
"there is this band that has been soundscanning a lot of records from
your area named pinback.. can you tell us a bit about them?" for those
of you who don't know, soundscanning = selling lots of records. looks
like the sharks are patrolling the waters again.

I'd love it if you shouted it to the world. Tell anyone you know. I only
made 15 books, so hardly anyone has seen the photos all together. I've
been meaning to do this on the website for years, I'm glad I finally sat
down and did it.
By the way, I heard there was a Gavin from El Cajon who died in the
Egyptair plane crash. I know there is a Gavin on this list, are you still
with us? God I hope so.
I'm always interested in trading music, and I still have some prints left,
gives me an idea for christmas. Why don't we send little christmas
packages to each other. Make several copies of a tape or something and
send it to everyone.
Thanks guys, I hope you enjoyed the pictures.

thank god. I guess that other post was bs.
Why is he moving to chicago? Do you know when?
Maybe we can talk his dad into building a new project and getting Zach to
help out with it. Come to think of it, isn't his dad doing something with
that old empty hole around 9th and E street.

I just got this off of the Rocket from the Crypt website:
Rumors/News: Our sources tell us that Rocket has succeeded in severin its
ties to Interscope. This is a positive step as the band is now free to shop
themselves to other suitors and find a label that is excited about what the
band is doing and will *promote* them. Stay tuned to this channel as more

all really good. goin to see them tonight with superchunk.
thingy is still together, but in various incarnations.. check this out

another great bands to check out is the locust. even if you don't like
hardcore, their shows are such a spectacle and awe inspiring, you'll
walk away smiling.
also, fellow listers, check out my san diego internet radio located at
http://fuerza.tzo.com/atomjackers/ .. also included is a little "family
tree" type guide thingie to the bands of san diego. you can listen to
900+ tracks of indie-emo-rock-lofi-punk, the majority of which is from
san diego, in realtime, streaming mp3 format. yummy.

hey jordan...
I am unsure of how many people are actually on this list, but I rarely get
mail from this list. If anyone cares to know my name is Melissa, and I am
17. I joined this list because I LOVE three mile pilot. I may sound like
some ditzy bop when I say that, but i really do LOVE them. They are
incredible. I am still waiting for the day when I can go to one of thier all
ages shows. I bought my first black heart procession cd the other day at
lou's. I am very happy with it.
So......more then likely I am the only chick on here..but if not..SPEAK UP!!!!
Whats up with all of you out there?? Tell me about yrself.
Other local bands ya like??

Here are some out-takes from when I shot their publicity fotos for Geffen
Records. We shot these in a sewer under I-805 in Chula Vista. Soturo
Yoshioka was also taking pictures that day. He did some stuff for heavy
vegetable, powerdresser, and more.

I'd love to trade.
I've got 3MP at the Casbah the night they recorded their tracks for the
Musica Del Diablo. This is the music off of the second album and is good
quality. It's about 60 minutes. Do you have any Black Heart Procession or
Pinback?

Hi
My name is Ted Drake. I started this list. But, there aren't too many
people on it. Please feel free to write something in to the list.
If you know any news, want to trade tapes, or anything else, just send an

Black Heart Procession is on tour, so I don't think there is much to report
about 3 Mile Pilot right now.
