It has been far too long since I have seen the boys play a show, roughly three
years or so. This is down from seeing them about four to six times a year a
decade ago. wow, that's a long time ago. It looks like I will be at The Hideout
early to get up close for their set (gotta find out which stage). I am pretty
excited about any and all songs they play. I would assume they are doing songs
from their T&G albums though Basstation, Resonance and Tweaker would be good to
hear as well. from the T&G albums, anything off the Cruise Yourself album, She's
Lost Control, Magattraction, and Billy's One Stop.
I kinda hope they are selling shirts since I just dropped a bunch of weight and
need something a bit snugger. Also, my Comfort, Class, Style shirt is now a fine
grey (used to be black) and has no armpits because the threading came loose.
Also, any chance that the concert that was taped for the European site will be
released on disk sometime? I always thought GVSB was better live and this was a
great example.
A few years ago I was getting my MFA in Design in New York. I just had a meeting
with Hillman Curtis who directed a GVSB video. While walking up 7th Ave,
listening to the Cruise Yourself album on my iPod, I was waiting to cross a
street. I turned to my left and notice Eli talking to some guys who looked like
musicians. I thought to myself what I small world it was and then dodged a taxi.
I turn thirty on Sunday and have realized that I have listened to GVSB for about
half of my life. Pretty good soundtrack to have if you ask me.
