Jessi, I am just wondering what part of the new song you consider "selling
out." As a musician, I love rock, folk, jazz, pop and more and I have been
in multiple projects simultaneously that are opposite parts of the musical
spectrum. I don't think it's selling out to experiment with other
influences.
However, to be honest, I'm kinda shocked more about the video and the song
names (like 2 Become 1) than I am about the new rhythmic sound. I did see a
little interview/clip about the video being a parody of rap videos and
runways and I can appreciate that, but that's the part I would consider "not
Jewel's style." Maybe she should go the Shania route and release 2 CDs of
the same songs in different styles.
