It don't cost anything to run a group and with the very small activity there
is hardly any time needed.
The responsibility of the moderator is to superwise that there is no
unwanted activity, not to provide input, so I see no reason to change
moderator.
A reson why there is prsently very little activity is that Miah Persson is
not sining very uch now as far as I have been ale to find out, without no
longer having any contact with her. She probably has two children now, one
of them probably about half a year old. Does anyone know?
I just checked the site of Frankfurt Oper and find that she has cancelled
Fiordiligi. As Tiefland was changed to e Magic Flute I decided no to go. I
would have been disappointed if I had done but probably not very much,
because Agneta Eichenholz, another fine Swedish soprano, will now do it.
She is still listed as soloist in Schubert's Rosamunde in Salzburg August 8,
in Mendelssohn's Ein Sommernachtstraum August 14, and as Solveig in Grieg's
Peer Gynt August 1. All three with Camerata Salzburg conducted by Marc
Minkowski. I suppose it's easier to do a few concerts than a series of opera
when you have two small children. I would love to hear her sing Solveig but
the cost would be too high for me, and I also have to work. Does anyone know
of any of these will be roadcast?
She will make her MET debut in 2009-2010.
Yesterday rhe Paul McCreesh recording of Haydn's The Creation was discussed
in Sveriges Radio's CD-Revyn. This is the first time I hear that Sandrine
Piau do not sing all the soprano solos and that Miah Persson sings Eva. The
four people who discussed it gave it 3, when 5 is the highest. They
complained that Gabrieli Consort & Players is a too big orchestra! The only
thing said about Miah Persson is that she sang as if she thought she was
doing operetta! I did love the small example of her that was played but I'm
of course a fan.
This is all I know. If anyone nows more please post.
