This is a site mainly to discuss Alien Planetscapes, the long running (now in the 25th year) psychedelic band from Queens, NYC. Led by synthesist/reed player Doug "Doctor Synth" Walker, the band has been at the forefront of America's underground prog/psych community since 1980, evolving from a mostly electronic group (think Tangerine Dream or early Heldon) into a full band which mixes influences as diverse as Hawkwind, electric Miles Davis, Art Ensemble Of Chicago and Sun Ra into a unique sound that's been chronicled on countless cassette and CD-R releases (as well as their late 90's CD release Life On Earth).

We can also discuss other musical artists, everyone from the Sun Ra to Hawkwind to Tangerine Dream. Hell, we can even discuss Duke Ellington if you want to. If you want to plug any music, films, art shows, what have you, go for it. This site is as much about supporting all aspects of the artistic community as it is about AP. But so help me, I don't want to hear about the new Britney Spears or Oasis albums!
