The November 8, 2004 issue of The New Yorker includes a little blurb about Hem
and their upcoming New York show at The Bowery Ballroom. Check it out, there's
even a cartoon of Sally!
Also, I added a little information about "All That I'm Good For" to the meanings

Enjoy! And don't forget that Hem's tour kicks into high gear this week!

Hello,
It originally popped up on the official message board frlom co-producer Gary
Maurer, but I included technical recording information for "Eveningland" on the
site for posterity.
FYI, I may not be able to update the site for a few days, but I will post any
new information as soon as I can.

Hello,
Today Hem recorded their World Cafe radio show, and I've got the setlist up on

Page about the name of the band.
Hope you're enjoying the new album as much as I am!

All About Hem
http://home.earthlink.net/~allabouthem
Hello,
Just a small update today about Hem's two new releases yesterday, Eveningland
and Birds, Beasts, & Flowers. Information about each album is now, to the best
of my knowledge, complete on the discography page. If you're curious, the three
songs on the Birds, Beasts, & Flowers EP are the same as the mp3s previously
available for download at Hem's rabbitsongs.com site. The pre-release
information I had for Birds, Beasts, & Flowers indicated that "Half Acre" and
"Pacific Street" might be different versions recorded at Radio Denmark, but they
are indeed the ones recorded at BBC Scotland in September 2002.
Rolling Stone has on its website a lovely new article about Eveningland that
includes a lot of album insight from our favorite songwriter, Dan Messe.
Enjoy!

of new album fun.
Enjoy!

Hello,
Hem will be on CNN on October 5 at 10:54am (EST), no doubt discussing their new
album released the same day. Check it out!
Also, in an effort to keep the main news page more manageable, I'm only
announcing there when there's new tour date information. As it becomes
available I've been adding ticket price, start time, and other tour information
for previously announced dates on the tour page, so check there for the most
recent information.
Finally, have I thanked you lately for your support of my site? Thank you!

Hello,
Just a little update today. Hem will play in Northampton, MA on November 8, and
the live mp3s available after preordering Eveningland were recorded last year in
Asheville, NC. A little more information about those two things are on the tour
page and the main page, respectively.
Just 11 more days until the new EP!

Hello,
The first dates of Hem's Fall/Winter tour have been announced. So far, only
three cities are on the schedule, but more dates should be announced soon.
Also, Hem will soon record a set for the radio program World Cafe. More
information about the program in general is linked to from my site.
I didn't mention it on the site because it's not really news yet, but as an FYI,
one part of the soon-to-launch Eveningland website will be a collection of
guitar tabs, which should make a lot of people happy.
Less than a month to go before the new album!

Hello,
Hem's new album "Eveningland" is set for release on October 5. Head to my site
(and, as always, to Hem's official site) for more information. The wait's just
a bit over a month away, but I bet the time will crawl slowly by because that's
how anticipation makes time work, I think. Enjoy!

Hello,
It's been a little while since the last update, what with news a bit stalled
since the band's searching for a label to release their latest album. But maybe
now you can help. There's a campaign to help get Hem signed to ATO. You can
get all the info at the top of my site's news page. Thanks for any help!

Hello,
Today's update includes album news from Hem's Official site and site news about
a brand spanking new links section. Looks like we may have to wait a while for
album #2 (which finally has an official name, "Eveningland"), but I hope not too
long!

Hello,
Just a short news bit about a very cool charity auction set up by the great
people at www.pattygriffin.net. Starting on March 7 they'll have a number of
autographed guitars up for auction, including one signed by Hem. See the update
for more details.
-Christina, who wants that guitar

This update was slow in coming, but with good reason: I was on vacation!
Updates will now be more timely and frequent.
In today's update, there's tour and discography news plus a couple links on
where to get Hem's music. Enjoy the upcoming shows if you're lucky enough to
attend any of them!

All About Hem
http://home.earthlink.net/~allabouthem
Even though the All About Hem site is so new that I am the only member of this
group, for the sake of being complete, I'll send a note for the archives about
the site's first update. I launched a Meanings Section that includes a (so far
very tiny) collection of quotes from band members about the meaning behind their
band name and song lyrics. Songs can and do mean different things to different
people, but I think it's interesting to know the inspiration behind songs.
Enjoy!
