--- Hi Susan, and all Cooney fans! I was at both of Andy's shows at
Mohegan Sun on St. Patrick's Day, and as usual, Andy put on a
wonderful, wonderful show! He did have 3 lovely Irish Step dancers,
who were dazzling in their footwork, Kate Purcell, from Co. Clare, who
has an excellent voice, and sang hauntingly. George Casey, whom I had
not heard perform before, was great-really funny, and interacted so
well with the audience. Of course Andy's orchestra is made up of some
the best musicians in the business, including Mattie Fischer, whom
I've seen at Andy's other concerts. The star of course, is "Irish-
America's Favorite Son." The concerts were made up of some of his
favorites, and a few I hadn't heard before. But one thing I've learned
after having been at several concerts, is that Andy gives his all,
from start to finish. He doesn't hold back, waiting for the big
finish. He makes contact with his audience, and they love him back.
One thing I have to mention is the fact that I've heard "Danny Boy"
sung by the greats and the "not-so great", and it's hard for me to get
excited about hearing it, even if it is St. Patrick's Day. But Andy
did such a dynamite job singing it, and ended on some fabulous high
notes, that he earned a standing ovation! He was superb. I try never
to miss an Andy Cooney concert if he's anywhere near me. Also, all of
the performers, including Andy himself, were available after the show,
to chat with people, take a photo, sign a CD, or just to say hi. He's
accessable to his fans, and it is very much appreciated. Thanks to
everyone!!
