well, as often happens with music-related on-line communities,
someone eventually gets the bright (yeah) idea of assembling a
tribute CD honoring the band/musicians that they hang around on line
to discuss and enjoy.

yeah, it's time for an Ass Ponys tribute CD project.

If you can play anything, sing anyhow, feel creative enough to bare
your soul in front of a listening mass of about 20 people, then
dammit, get yer chit together and start formulating an AP tune.
Record it however, the cleaner the better (amazing how well some
boomboxes do, for example), send me your tape or disk or whatever,
and i'll assemble it all for distribution to whoever wants it. this
ain't for profit or anything like that... it's a chance to get to
know each other a little better, to share some creativity (there are
some awesomely creative assheads out there), and to honor the Ass
Ponys in perhaps a most dishonorable way, heheheheh. chances are,
though, that tapes or whatever sent in won't be returned... postage
and all that, ya know? but we can work all that out later.

providing, of course, we get enough participants.

so waddya think, folks? ready to give it a try?

first phase would be to drop me an email stating which song/songs
you'd like to do, and maybe, how. that way we don't have a disk of
ten different parties doing ten different covers of "California
Bingo," if you catch my drift. I guess we'll burn bridges from
there....

so dust off your 6 strings, your tubas, your theremins, and your
bazoukis, 'coz summer's here and the time is right for jammin' in the
streets, boy.
