re: archive.org.... asshead Gary D made that all possible. He set it
up, got permissions, etc. Yes, perhaps it's time to start using it.
More software to learn... sheesh. (Thanks, Gary!)
There's a discussion running on the message board, albeit a brief
one. "MPMF Update (now with Ass Ponys content)"
here's the set list, copied from there, and alas, no, there were no
re-eneactments of any movie scenes at all. Damn it.
Set list:
Dried Up
Kung Fu Reference
Donald Sutherland
Radio Birds
Half a Million Stars
Nap is a Goner
Only
Earth to Grandma
Azalea
Stupid
Pretty As You Please
Grim
(One of the longest encore calls I've ever heard at a Ponys show.

being 40 now has its percs though... get to whine about the bad knee

hey guys ive been a big fan of yours for the longest time and i
was wondering if my band can cover "Pretty as you please" cause we
all love that song if you would give us the permission we
love you long time!
brain farts... don't worry bout it... wait'll you get to be my age,
ya young whipper snapper, he said, assumingly, figuring michael is
younger than me, which he very well may not be. heh.
last night's show was very very good. i've seen quite a few over the
last few years, so it all kinda blurs. this was our first show to
see since the april 30 Sudsy's reunion gig, so we was ready.
First, AP. They were on target for not having played for a while.
When asked if there were any surprises on tap for the show's set,
John quipped, "Yes, we'll be surprised if we're actually good."
Opened with "Dried Up," which was on this years MPMF sampler, closed
with "Banlon Shirt." Did a slowed down chopped out "Pretty As You
Please, VERY nice. Chuck's voice was as good s I've heard it in a
while. The band was great overall. They made a LOT of new fans last
night, and reminded some others that Ass Ponys are still alive, and
still kickin' ass.
Barrelhouse was PACKED for AP's set. I've never seen that many
people in there. Amazing. Two gius, Mike and Brian, drove 600 miles
from Wisconsin to catch the set. Amazing 2. Where was the Chicago
guy with the dog? I dunno.
Haven't listened to the tape yet, but I set the mics in front of the
left house speaker to hopefully kill a lot of crowd noise, we'll
see. Man, I got about 10 hours of tape to weed through from this
weekend... sheesh.
I'll make it available once it's edited and ready.
More later. It rocked.

four score and seven years ago, on this very day, a poor swayback
floozy of a mare gave birth in a dark, dank barn in eastern lohio.
although this newborn horse was seemingly healthy, it did have one
small affliction. it was born with the brain of a human. this young
horse, who some called turtle, met its challenges and grew up to
become a strong work horse, a fine stud, and an advocate for other
four legged animals, most notably giving shelter to a lesser known
species, assponys. he is still alive today and living the good life.
my sincerest best wishes on this, your day, brother. wisdom may begin
at an advanced age, but only if you are wise at the younger ones. and
you sir, are most wise.

ok, wait... define "perform"... do you mean as actors playing the
characters in these films or perform as in the band would be playing
music in a scene or on the soundtrack of that movie?
Because, it might be interesting to see the band act out short scenes
from these movies between songs during a live show... you know, at the
end of "Dried Up" the stage fades to black and a few simple spots fall
on two of the band members...
Randy : They told me that you had gone totally insane, and that your
methods were unsound.
Chuck : Are my methods unsound?
Randy : I don't see any method at all, sir.
Chuck : I expected someone like you. What did you expect? Are you an assassin?
Randy : I'm a soldier.
Chuck : You're neither. You're an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks,
to collect a bill.

OK, peepazoids, we're live with the new site as of 10 PM edt on
Wednesday, September 1, 2004. We're still doing a happy dance here
in Rubbertown, 'coz we didn't think the upload would move as well as
it did. We're very very thrilled. hope you like it.
On a few of the Discography pages (Misc, Comps, and Other), we found
that some of the back buttons do not work. Use your browser's back
button. We know the cause and will fix it in the morning.
I'm gonna crank "Ape Hangers."
WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi boys and girls,
in caseyou didn't see it on the message board, the web site is going
down Thursday morning Sept 2. Hopefully an hour or two after that,
the NEW AP.O will be on line.
Enjoy. You want fries wit dat?

OK, folks, who's hitting MidPoint, and what bands are you gonna catch?
we haven't done too much on-line listening yet, nor has MPMF issued a
decent schedule yet. we'll be catching AP for sure, maybe Ruby
Vileos, but we'd really like to catch some acts we've not heard yet.
input? Bueller?
hope to see y'all.
