Greetings Folks!
Here is an event that ya'll might find of interest, 'tis obligatory for me
as I learned much from Leon and welcome the opportunity to play nice, with
him and the circle of known friends of the heart and as yet unmet friends
of the drum ($ are tight for me at the moment so I did resist, weakly). So
I reckon I need to be there or be square. This is a structured workshop
beginning with foundational skills development (e.g. hand positions to
produce the basic sounds: Bass, Tone, and Slap) and building from there
learning named West African songs and rhythms.
Pssst: <sotto voce>I pray that we also find time to jam some during the
lunch break and after the workshop as wholehearted West African influenced
free-form improvisational Peace drumming is when I find am happiest.
However, I suspect that for more normal people eating lunch or swimming
will take precedence, which is probably more appropriate under the
circumstances. It's all good, ain't Living Love Grand?

Prayer of St. Theresa
May today there be peace within
May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are
meant to be....
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love
that has been given to you....
May you be content knowing you are a child of God....
Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance and to bask in the sun….
It is there for each and everyone of you….

but to love much; and so, do that which best stirs you to love."

(Spanish nun who founded the reformed order of the Carmelites in 1562)
