It's just one short week away to the SamaTo West African Drum &
Dance Ensemble performance and workshops! The performance is Friday,
June 24th at the Neighborhood Playhouse (www.nplayhouse.org) at 430
West Trinity Place in Decatur (behind the police station).
Workshops are: Master workshop Friday at 5:00 PM at Ebster Gym 416
West Trinity Place. SATURDAY JUNE 25: Dance with Youssouf Koumbassa
10 am at Beacon Dance Studio. Drum with Fode Moussa Camara at 10 am
at the Neighborhood Playhouse. Dance Marietou Cisse 12pm at Beacon
Dance Studio. DUNDUN with Ibrahima Dioubate at 12pm at Neighborhood
Playhouse. Dance with Mamady Sano at 2pm at Beacon Dance Studio.
Drum with Aly Camara at 2pm at Neighborhood Playhouse. Dance with
Ibrahima Sylla at 4 pm at Beacon Dance Studio. Dance with Mamasta
Camara at 6pm at Ebster Gym. Dance with Youssouf Koumbassa at 8pm
at Ebster Gym. SUNDAY JUNE 26: Drum with Aly Camara at 12pm at
Beacon Dance Studio. Beginner Dance with Ibrahima Sylla at 1:30pm at
Beacon Dance Studio.
Instructors are also available for private or small group classes
throughout the weekend - let us know if you are interested, or speak
directly with the artists when you arrive. Of particular interest
may be Balaphon or Krin class.

About our Guinean-born and trained artists:
Youssouf Koumbassa, former dancer with Guinea's national ballet
Djoliba, is a celebrated performer and dance instructor around the
US.
Fode Moussa Camara, who was djembe soloist for the world tour of
Mandinka Epic, performs and teaches throughout the southeast at drum
camps, workshops and school programs.
Marietou Cisse, who has performed for Wassa, Les Merveilles
d'Afrique and more, is a favorite teacher and performer in Atlanta,
GA.
Ibrahima Dioubate, drummer for Les Merveilles and soloist for the
Drum Cafe Atlanta, is loved by his peers for his finesse with
dundun, sangban and kenkeni.
Mamady Sano, another veteran of Les Merveilles d'Afrique, had a
tremendous student following in NYC before moving to the southeast
to enthrall audiences with his quick steps and stunning movement.
Aly Camara, a lead drummer with Les Merveilles d'Afrique, was
bestowed the nickname "Ironhand" by his teachere, and performs and
teaches to dedicated audiences.
Ibrahima Sylla is a dancer and acrobat who captivates audiences and
completed last year's world tour with Les Ballets Africains.
Mamasta Camara is another member of Les Merveilles d'Afrique who has
developed a loyal following of students in NYC.
Kadiatou Kante is an amazing dancer who came to the US with Les
Merveilles d'Afrique.
Ismael Bangoura is a drummer from Les Merveilles d'Afrique who is
frequently featured for his skills on dundun and sangban.
Lamine Sylla is a drummer recently arrived in the US who brings us
very high quality traditional instruments and clothing for sale.
Fasinet, is an excellent balaphonist who moved very recently to the
southeast.
