Based in Atlanta, we are a women-of-color African drumming group
seeking new female members. We meet weekly (usually late Saturday
afternoons) to rehearse, and perform for community organizations such
as domestic violence non-profits, HIV/AIDS awareness, and the LGBT
community. You should have some drumming experience, a desire to learn,
great energy, and be committed to regular group practices and at-home
practice. We also take classes from a local drummaster to hone our
skills. We play instruments such as the djembe,
dundunba/kenkeni/sangban, and various percussive instruments like
shakere and bells.
