Aly and I are starting our first ever fundraising effort for our non-
profit. I know many of you are travelling, but I wanted to get this
note out before 12/31 in case anyone was looking for an additional
tax-deduction!

This year, Aly purchased a double-lot of land on the edge of Conakry
and had a wall built around it. Now we want to start building the
Institute for the Preservation of the Performing Arts that we have
been planning for.

A fellow non-profiter told me about an approach she used to raise
$10,000 by asking 1,000 people to donate $10 each. I told her that I
don't know 1,000 people that I would ask for money, and she said
that that is ok. Just start with about a hundred, and ask them if
they know a few people that also might support the mission, and you
can get their step by step.

So, basically, we are asking that if you would like to support our
vision, we would be thrilled if you showed your support by donating
$10. If you are interested in offering more, of course we would love
to have it!!! If you know others who might have similar interests in
supporting our vision, please forward this message to them as well.

In addition, we will match every donation that we get dollar for
dollar from our own funds, with an overall goal to raise $20,000
($10,000 from donations and $10,000 from our match).
