Re: [AtlantaDjembe] Festival Announcement

hello tojuwa!
the description of this in your letter sounds interesting, and the price quite
reasonable. I have some questions, however, and do not see a contact person
listed anywhere on the website. Are you the organizer/contact?
If you're an organizer, it occurs to me that you may be more up-to-date than the
website, and could perhaps update me (us) here? You mention local and national
musical talent, but I see no mention, on the website, of them in the events or
presenters. I also see no listing of the yoga or dance classes that you
mention, nor do I see -among the three presenters- any mention of a background
that would lead me to think they'd be teaching such classes. Are those things
you know will be offered?

If you don't know, perhaps you could lead me to a website for Dreaming Earth
productions or the Atlanta temple of Gaea?

I did see that the website mentions that many things are currently unknown about
the event, and that they will be added to the site as they are known. I'm asking
now, though, because there is a sign-up deadline, and because I tend to delete and
forget about these things if I don't sign up when I first see them.

I'm also wondering about what is included. There is no mention of cabins or
showers, so I'm guessing this is tent-camping. is that right? And, although
there is one food vendor mentioned, I don't think their type of food (fried
chicken and "lots" of chocolate) are my choices. I'm happy to bring my own
(should I attend) , but would like to be clear about what is offered.
thanks for your help!
Kim

DREAMING

~ A festival of pagans, poets, musicians, artists, engineers,
dancers, hedonists, lovers of life, and builders of dreams, brought
to you by Dreaming Earth Productions and the Atlanta Temple of Gaea ~

Dreaming is a temporary autonomous community gathered on 70 acres in
western Georgia. For four days we will step out of our ordinary
world and experience new life and new possibilities. We will create
an environment of art, music, beauty, and freedom where we can begin
to realize our true potential.

Dreaming will include several musical concerts by local and national
talents. Classes and workshops will be presented on several subjects
from nature religion, and sacred sexuality, to dance and yoga.
Merchants will provide items both useful and mystical. Drummers and
dancers will pound out ancient rhythms. Identities will blend and
expand in the Gothic masquerade of the Goblins Ball. Temples will be
raised, and songs will be sung to the ancient gods of life and
nature. Semi-random acts of fun and beauty will be enacted by all.

Come out and join us. Every person who contributes to the experience
makes the Dreaming richer for all.

Dates: June 24th through 27th 2004

Location: Carrolton, GA

Registration fee (to attend the Dreaming, you MUST pre-register):

Prior to May 31, 2004 -- $40
Between June 1 - 20 -- $50
Groups of 10 qualify for a discount.
