Subject: YES we have class on EASTER. No, we don't on 4/18 and 4/25
Hello everyone,
I'm very sorry to say that for the first time in the 2.5 years that
we have held djembe class in Atlanta that we are going to have to
cancel classes on 4/18 and 4/25! The good news is that we will have
class as usual on 4/11 (Easter Sunday) and we expect to see you all
again on 5/2!
If you want to see us, though, our group SamaTo (all drummers and
dancers from Guinea West Africa) is performing at the Georgia
Renaissance Festival (www.garenfest.com) on 4/17, 4/18, 4/24 and
4/25. They will be doing 4 shows each day, at 12, 1:30, 3 and 4 pm.
They are also performing on May 1 at Emory University on the square
for an event sponsored by the Carlos Museum, which I believe is free
of charge.
Also, Aly will be teaching at the Borenya drum & dance conference in
South Carolina on July 5-9.
Remember, classes are held on Sundays at 12:30 pm at the Southeast
YMCA at 1765 Memorial Drive in Atlanta. $12/class or $50 for 5
classes. To reach the class, take I-20 to Moreland Avenue North.
Turn right on Memorial drive at the first light. The YMCA will be on
your right 2 blocks past Maynard Terrace. Park around back in the
nice large parking lot.
Thanks,
Sharon
