A discussion and promotional group for musicians, patrons, fans and enthusiast of Jazz in Atlanta and the Southeastern US. This groups exists to support and encourage the proliferation of jazz music (all genres and styles), gigs, clubs, concerts, jams and happenings throughout the city. . .and the entire region.

Jazz music includes a great deal of diversity (and possible division), but let us revel in all that jazz is, was and can be. . .from rag to swing, from be-bop to trip-hop, from blues to bossa, from Dixieland to drum n' bass, from hot to cool, from straight ahead to smooth contemporary, from traditional to experimental, from acoustic to electronic, from jazz infused hip-hop to world grooves, from silky, smokey, soulful and scat vocalists to spoken word, from fusion to funk, from jazz rock fusion to rare grooves, from down tempo to deep house, from acid jazz to ambient, from Afro-Cuban to Latin, from nu jazz to neo-soul. . .and beyond. There are no limits when it comes to jazz -- but feel free to state your opinions, views and reviews. . .as long as your sole purpose is not to flame or criticize others.

There is not a lot of information available about what is happening in jazz throughout the Southeast -- it has always been somewhat of an underground culture in Atlanta. So, please. . .share anything and everything you may know about gigs, concerts, musicians or CD's so that we can all join together as one community under a groove! Let's make this "underground jazz movement" in Atlanta a worldwide phenomenon!

Jazz is timeless and essential, America's only original art form -- it goes beyond color, creed and culture. . . allowing the heart, mind, soul and spirit to swing together in syncopated counterpoint. So. . .don't keep information to yourself -- let jazz breath to represent and unify the melting pot that is the ATL!
