THE PERFORMANCE
The Left Coast Improv Group has neither director nor composer nor conductor nor score
. . . this group is rhizomatic to the core, moving on lines of flight,
intensities upon a body without organs . . . a 21st Century Deleuzian ensemble. . .
The line-up is: Doug Carroll cello, Michael Cooke bassoon and sheng (Chinese wind
instrument), Ron Heglin trombone & voice, Darren Johnson trumpet, Scott R. Looney
electronics, Bob Marsh cello, Tom Nunn hand-built percussion, Jim Ryan flute, horn,
small percussion, Leif Shackelford viola, Karen Stackpole gongs & percussion,
Andrew Voigt flutes & hi reeds
The full ensemble will be preceded by 3 small groups playing for about 15 to 20
minutes each: 1) RTD - Ron Heglin, Tom Nunn, Doug Carroll . . . 2) The Marshettes
- Bob Marsh, Scott R. Looney, Karen Stackpole, and Leif Shackelford . . . 3) Cooke
Company Wind & Brass - Michael Cooke tenor sax, Darren Johnson trumpet, Jim
Ryan alto sax/horn, Andrew Voigt other saxes.
