Hi there mailing list folks!

Letting you all know about the first week of fun in 2009!

Vultures will be appearing at the first Boat-Ting of the year on Monday, 5th January. This is my new dark ambient project with amazing bassist/sound explorer Andie Brown (electric and upright with electronics). This show will be our second performance with Anthony Donavon of Murmurists fame playing a prepared zither and electronics. Also on the bill are great improviser like astounding Lol Coxhill (sax), the ever delightful siren Kay Grant (voice), and mastermind noise maker John Russell (guitar)!

Boat-Ting: Temple Pier (closest station is Temple, walking distance from Embankment), the yacht on the right called the Bar&Co, doors at 19:30, show at 20:30, £6/£4 concs.

You can hear the first track of our latest recording session on our new MySpace page at
http://www.myspace.com/justvultures

and if you come to our show on Monday and tell me you came because of this email or you added yourself to our MySpace page, I'll send you a link to the rest of the tracks, so you can download them for free! How sweet is that? That won't last forever, though, because we will be releasing these tracks officially soon...

Now on the sights part of the email: I've been asked to rekindle the torch I carried for many years I lovingly called Bad Movie Night! Starting Monday 12th January, I will be showing films on a regular basis at Pangea Project in Stoke Newington. The first showing is free, so come early and catch it all! I will be bombarding you with rubber monsters, blaxploitation, mexican masked wrestlers, and low budget vampires! The night will start with an episode of Spectreman, followed by El Santo vs. the Vampire Women, the second half of the Spectreman action, and then Hammer/Shaw Brothers classic: Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires!

Pangea Project is just north of Stoke Newington station across from the Morrison's grocery. Doors at 19:00, show starts at 19:30 on the dot! Free! Food and drink available.

Along the same lines, if anyone is interested in kung fu movies, I'll be showing several of those at a private party tomorrow night, kicking in the new year with complete stupidity! Let me know if you are interested and I will get you in. (This is in London, everyone. Sorry if you're somewhere else and want to go. Maybe next time...)

Thanks and see you all this week!
