Benefit concerts planned

Friends of shooting victim Lori Brewer have organized four benefit concerts to help her with medical bills. Brewer was critically injured on March 14 when her boyfriend, Louie Thomas Williams, 23, allegedly shot her in the head.According to friends, the outlook for Brewer, who does not have medical insurance, was grim but she has steadily improved since the incident, even opening her eyes this week. Reportedly, the bullet striking Brewer lodged behind her left eye.
Meanwhile, Williams remains in the Washington County Jail on half a million dollars bond. According to event organizer Bridget Martin, the events, “Big Bucks for Brewer” will take place on Thursday at the Snockers tavern, the Solo Club and Hoops Bar and Grill in Bartlesville and the Hitchin' Post in Dewey.Radio League Champions, The Red Dirt Rangers, Tuff Profit, The Dustin Pittlsey Band and Jimmy Johnson (including Kyle Brown) will play at Snockers. The Farm Couple with Don Morris with acoustic guests Dustin Pittlsey, Jesse Aycott and Jason Sunday with host Robbie Melton will be at the Solo Club. Wild Wilbur and Double Take will perform at the Hitchin' Post and Hell or High Water will perform at Hoops.
Times for the events have been staggered so that attendees may see each show in a “crawl” fashion. “We just hope everyone will come out to these events,” said Martin. “It is for a good cause and we want Lori to know that there are a lot of people pulling for her.” The Snockers show begins at 7 p.m., the Solo Club show at 8 p.m. and the Hoops show starts at 9 p.m.. The time for the Hitchin' Post show is to be announced. Food as well as pins and ribbons will be on sale at each location and donations will be accepted. We need people to video this and to take pictures so Lori can see all of this later. We also will have a place for people to sign well wishes to Lori so she can see them as she recovers.
