I am dressing up for Halloween this year!!!
I am going to be the great Leon Russell as seen on this video in 1970!
I have been doing a lot of research on Leon lately and have found myself completely hooked on his music, and completely impressed by his accomplishments. Oh, how I would love to play drums for him someday!!! I was fortunate enough to meet Leon at one of his birthday bashes in Tulsa a couple of years ago but it was only a short hello and a hand shake. However, I am playing in Council Bluffs, Iowa next week and Leon is playing the very same place on the very same stage the next night!! I know a few of his band members pretty well and I am hoping to get to hang out with them a little before we have to head out. I am planning to take some pictures of me in my Halloween duds to show him if I am lucky enough to get to meet and chat with him again. I'll keep you posted on how that turns out. In the meantime if you're interested here's a little info about Leon...

FYI: I hope he doesn't mind me telling this but, John Galley who plays keyboards here in Bartlesville with all the locals was Leon's organ player back in the 70's, he played on some of Leon's biggest hits, one being Tightrope and John has played for some other big names as well. It's always a privilege to play with John, he is a great guy and great player!
