Okay, like I promised, here's a quick rundown of what's been happening since the last time we played Oklahoma City on June 18th. We were supposed to be opening for Michael Schenker Group(Scorpions Guitar Player) but they didn't show for some reason so we got bumped up and headlined the show.

Then on to Tulsa the next night to play the Flytrap. What can I say other than wow! We really appreciated all your support on that one and it was great seeing all the familiar faces!

We left for Illinois that night and drove all night to make it to our show at Slang Metal Fest III (the next night June 20th) with our boy's Boomslang.  What an after-party at the hotel bar and in the rooms and hallways! I still can't believe the cops didn't get called! We ended up on stage at the hotel bar after hi-jacking instruments from the band that was playing. It was fun to say the least!

We were supposed to have a gig in Chicago and one in Allentown to keep us on the road to Pittsburgh but they fell through for some reason and it was cheaper to come home than to stay in a hotel until the 26th so we woke up early and did a photo shoot for Notorious Cigars looking like we just rose from the dead and made the hella long drive back home beat up and hung-over.

Only to find out after making it home that the Radio station in Pittsburgh wanted us two days early to do some P.R. stuff so I (I say "I" because the Texas Boys didn't get to go home, they stayed in OKC at the management offices) got one day home before we headed almost right back where we had just come from. (I got to see Michael Winslow doing stand-up while I was home though 'the black dude on Police Academy that makes all the noises' and he was AWESOME!)

We finally hit Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania after what seemed like forever and man, it was beautiful! It was really cool coming through the tunnel to see the skyline of downtown Pittsburgh and the three rivers running through it all. Pretty breathtaking! (Especially from atop Mt. Washington where I took the cog railroad to the top to get a spectacular view.)

First thing we did when we got to the hotel, like normal, was hit the pool. Then later that day we were shuttled to an "in-store" meet & greet at Eides Music in downtown Pittsburgh. Then we were off to a huge biker rally to make an appearance. There was a radio station who was doing a live remote, they played some THC and announced that we were there and would be playing The Hard Rock Cafe the next night. Checked out some bikes, had some dinner and split back to the hotel.

The next day we had an early lobby call. We had an acoustic performance and meet & greet set up at the Guitar Center in Pittsburgh. As soon as we finished up there we were off to Heinz Field to get a private tour of the arena. Even though I'm not a sports fan it was pretty cool to see the inner workings of things on such a big scale. We went everywhere, from the press box, to the private suites and even into the Steelers locker room.

Then it was time for load-in at The Hard Rock. We got set up then we were shuttled back to the hotel to get showered up before the show. Doc Roc from Infernalradio.com was at the show broadcasting live "world-wide" but from what I understand they didn't get the whole show, due to server problems of some sort. Regardless, we had a good time and met a lot of great people. It truly amazes me how far people drive or fly to see us sometimes. Last time we played in Denton, TX someone flew in from Florida and in Pittsburgh we had a car load drive in from Canada!

We left Pittsburgh the next morning and drove all night. I made it home around 7 or 8am the next day(the rest of the boys still had two hours to go, to get to the office in OKC) I was home for one day again before we headed out. This time we had a show in OKC at the Diamond Ballroom before we headed out for our South Texas dates the next day.

We got to San Antonio on July 1st, a day early. We looked forever for a cheap hotel to get us by for the night. We found what I'd like to refer to as a "Crack Motel" and stayed there after switching some rooms around because of a stench coming from one of the rooms. We got some much needed sleep and decided since we already had toughed it out that night, we were going to just save some money and tough it out again in the same spot. We paid for the rooms only to have the manager say we couldn't park our trailer in the fire zone. So basically we were kicked out of the Crack Motel! It was a blessing in disguise though, because we ended up in a MUCH nicer place with a pool, hot-tub and a work-out room and it was only about a mile from the venue. The venue and crowd were great, we had a great time in San Antone!

We got to Beaumont and ran into an old friend of the guys at the venue, who used to play drums for our friends Pumpjack. The dude owned a metal club there and invited us over to his bar after the show. We stayed till the wee hours of the morning and had a great time!

Now I'm trying to remember whether we hit the beach immediately(which is our normal procedure when we get close to the ocean) or if I'm thinking of last time we were there. Oh well...

We played Houston on the 4th of July and didn't see one firework the whole night but wow, what a great show! The crowd was on fire(so-to-speak) and we were loving every minute of it. Houston has been great both times I have played there with THC!

After returning home from Houston we had almost two weeks until our next show which was in Miami, Oklahoma at The Buffalo Bike Run - Buffalo Run Casino on July 17th, where the world-famous daredevil motorcyclist Trigger Gumm jumped over us "On Fire" and broke the world record! The next night Gary Allen headlined the show and we played the after-party. Some of the other bands we made fast friends with and had a good time listening to and partying with over the weekend were Chasing Dixie, The Shon Brothers and The Chad Emmert Band.

Well, in short, that's about it for what's been going on lately. We do have some really great shows coming up soon, all over the place, with some great bands and  we hope you'll try to make it out if you're anywhere close.

This Saturday August 1st, as mentioned above, we will be in Oklahoma City at the Rock Theater.

Then we leave Wednesday Aug 5th to play some dates down in Florida over the weekend which I'm pretty excited about. (I love white-sand-beaches and palm trees!)

We leave Florida and head back to our very own Miami(Miami, Oklahoma) to play a show on August 13th with Saliva and Smile Empty Soul!

We head to Lubbock after that to play at Tequila Jungle on August 14th, then on to Acoma, New Mexico to play a big show with Queensryche, Ratt, Jani Lane(Warrant) and When Darkness Falls. More info at  http://www.skycity.com/Entertainment/

Then straight from there to Ride For Dime in Dallas, Texas on Aug 16th!
Hosted by Jose Mangin with appearances from Ace Frehly, Corey Taylor of Stone Sour and Slipknot, Aaron Lewis of Staind as well as members of Shinedown, Machine Head, Testament, Buckcherry, Snot and many more! The show will also feature performances by Souless Intent, Bound and Texas Hippie Coalition.

We have a few days off after that then we're off to Tolono, Illinois to blow it up with our buds Boomslang at Radmaker's Rock N' Roll Tavern!

Then we're off to a huge festival in Algona Iowa. Sharing the stage with names you wouldn't believe including George Thorogood & The Destroyers, Candlebox, Sevendust, Saving Abel, Eve 6, Tantric, Armored Saint, Lizzy Borden, Lillian Axe and more!

After that I'm sure some dates will fill in between but we'll be in Casper, Wyoming on my Birthday, September 17th then Gillette, Wyoming on the 18th and 19th.

Denton, Texas at The Boiler Room on October 9th then back at Choctaw Casino in Pocola, Oklahoma on Halloween Night!

Hope that was a good enough summary of what's been happening and what's coming up.

We appreciate all your support and hope to see you at a show soon! Also, we could use any help you can offer to help spread the word about Texas Hippie Coalition and our shows. Put us on your top friends, re-post our bulletins, fliers and videos. We sincerely thank you!
