holding their two-day Garden Festival. It is scheduled for Saturday and
It was great jammin’ with you all last Sunday.
Now I know you would rather be playing than listening, but next Sunday John, Jon, Wendy, and Wayne are performing at Farmingdale State College in their debut as the Lonesome Mountain String Band in the annual Garden Festival, presented by the Horticulture Department.
Here is the blurb I have been sending to friends and fellow faculty:
This coming weekend the Horticulture Department of Farmingdale College is
Sunday, June 9 and 10, from 10Am to 5PM on the campus near the entrance off
of Route 110. It is a truly enjoyable event.
Here is an additional fun reason to stop by. As many of you know, we have been
pulling a bluegrass/swing band together since the end of last summer. The
Lonesome Moonlight String Band is finally ready to hit the road, or dirt, or
meadow, or winery... wherever they will let us play. We will be performing
at the Garden Festival, Sunday, June 10 from 12 noon to 3PM. This is our
first opportunity to get our feet wet (hopefully not literally). Our band
features Jon and Wendy Pachter on 5-string banjo and standup bass, John
Deliso on guitar and dobro, and Wayne Krush on mandolin and harmonica.
This should absolutely be a fun event. Please consider coming by. There is a
little something there for everyone, and a sweet song to go with it.
Admission is free.
In the event that Sunday looks like poor weather and Saturday looks good,
we would then perform on Saturday instead of Sunday, at 12 noon.
Hope to see you there.
Wayne
