It is an 8 track recorder, but you are erasing what you have already recorded on tracks 7 and 8 when you bounce over. You need to bounce any 6 tracks onto 7 ...

This is digital recording. You can't play back a track you are recording on. You might be able to bounce some things onto the virtual tracks to free up tracks...

This is a reason why I just convert the BR8 files to wave files and edit them in Acid. It's much simpler and more 'visual' than trying to bounce them around...
