Project of Denis from formations of SUNCHARIOT, ENMERKAR and MATTER
shows a little more experimental Drone Ambient than the one he performs
in his main project, SUNCHARIOT.

The album is dedicated to the author's sojourn on the shores of Black
Sea in winter. Slack, congealed soundwaves crystallize in the air and
gently descend on eyelids and shoulders, immersing one in eternal
slumber of Suspense. Floating spectres of drowned fishermen, call-signs
of ultramundane submarines, icefloes that ram Eternity, chasm of
scalding coldness and pitch-darkness.

ANDREA MARUTTI: THE BRUTALITY OF MISBREATHING, CD-R

"The Brutality of Misbreathing" is Andrea Marutti's first full-lenght
release published under his own name. He is better known for his Amon
and Never Known projects and as Afe Records label owner. His music has
been published by Eibon Records, Amplexus, Drone Records, Taâlem, etc.
This album is a one hour journey between dramatic dark atmospheres and
drone-based ambiences in slow and continous evolution. Echoes of
reverbered metallic sounds and sharp circular loops, electronic elements
and saturated signals close to distortion emerge each now and then from
the disquieting sound mass. The music flows in a persistent alternation
of majestic crescendos and quiet discreet stases; a sense of tension and
discomfort permeates the whole disc, just like being stuck in a long and
appearently never-ending bad dream...

ANTI-VERSTAND: SONG LIKE WIND, CD-R

ANTI-VERSTAND - side-project of YAO 91404 D - is pretty known among
adorers of Russian Noise due to tapes released by YAOP and a couple of
CDR re-releases made by Abgurd and Fight Muzik. With "Song Like Wind"
the project introduces absolutely new and fresh point of view on its
Art. The first recordings of ANTI-BRAIN were on the verge of boundless
madness and unprejudiced aural challenge, while the new album appears to
be more expressive, strict and catchy, burning with
romantic-totalitarian lunacy of the best works by YAO 91404 D, e.g.
"Heroes of the Coal Age" and "Key to Abyss". Love-poetry of soviet-era,
disco-songs, accompanied by a captured metal impress, soviet-era variety
art, rough and rigid feedbacks, concorporated into percussive ritual
noise loops and abrasive distorted tapes emerge monumental piece of art.

ARMON KUILU: S/T, CD
(Totuuden Sarvi Levyt)
The first release from Totuuden Sarvi Levyt is a piece of Finnish art
destined to remain in the minds of those who hear it. The debut
mini-album by Armon Kuilu is a funereal musical journey, two long
progressive compositions built out mostly of classical piano, strings,
orchestral drums, singing, prayers and invocations in male and female
voices. More of a gothic work than a total assault on the senses, yet
one must remember that the word gothic is often abused in connotation
with just a melancholic form of new age entertainment music but here the
soundscapes bring to mind images of forlorn cemetaries, initiatory
cults, bloodletting, woodlands and altered states of consciousness. At
times the melodies of chamber music break out into squeals, groans and
crackling which haunt the space and resonate with the Finnish poetry,
that most of the time reminds one of a satanic ceremony. Some passages
sound familiar to the listeners of European avantgarde and progressive
music such as Actus, Art Zoyd and releases from the label Athanor.
Post-industrial fans should also listen to this work but remember that
this is not your generic so-called occult album with the usual Crowley
spoken parts. Instead this is a deeply personal work with challenging
classical and sometimes jazz or progressive melodies composed by the
master behind the project and performed by real musicians with authentic
instruments and also utilizing real actors for the various voices and
spoken parts. Believe me, you will hear the difference. The mini-album
comes in a black & white sleeve with a full color 8-page art booklet
(size 7x7"), built from nature-mystical imagery shot on infrared film.

beginnings of both projects, here one is to find experiments in

pioneers, voices and hauntings and crushing guitar. Melodies and raw

[S] and (S), who live in Pushkino city in Moscow suburbs, created their
project EXIT IN GREY four years ago. During the last couple of years
they worked with their solo-projects as well. Those are ABANDONED HEAD
of (S) and SISTER LOOLOMIE and FIVE ELEMENTS MUSIC of [S]. EXIT IN GREY
is 100% example of Drone Ambient: hypnotizing field-recordings of city
and nature, their own unique methods of musicianship, harmonizing
guitar, synths and singing bowls helps the musicians to follow their
chosen path of Archaic and Emotional. «Twilight Waters» was recorded in
the year 2005 and was released by the musicians own label Daphnia
Records in ultra-limited edition «for friends-only». Gloomy and cold,
streaming through underground caves sound collages. Transformed droning
streams of ever-water and noises of oceanic spaces co-work with
guitar-based drones and singing bowls. Calm and introvert recording for
dilution and absorption.

GEN KEN MONTGOMERY: DRILLING HOLES IN THE WALL, CD

Archive materials from one of the most mysterious musicians in
electronic underground, dating from 1988 to 1991. Each piece composed by
Gen Ken Montgomery is the result of domestic alchemy, transforming some
ugliest environmental sounds into artistic images of impressive beauty.
His instruments are just prepared toy synth, but also from time to time
laminator, icebreaker, radiator, film projector and so on. These
recordings were made in Conrad Schnizler studio in West Berlin, and also
live on stage there, in time of Germany reunion.

KRYPTOGEN RUNDFUNK + HLADNA: ROKTON + FORMANTA, 3" CD-R

Hladna and Kryptogen Rundfunk - behind these names stand two St.
Petersburg-based musicians playing experimental noise music. They both
nourish a tender passion for old electronic instruments and often use
them at their concerts and on recordings. One warm sunny day they
gathered and decided to play on two analogue rhythm synthesizers
"Rokton" and "Formanta". These are actually two identical instruments
which were produced in the Soviet Union by two different factories. Each
of them is the "brain" for electronic drum-kit, but can also be used
separately - as a multi-channel tone-noise-generator or rhytm-machine.

Kryptogen Rundfunk used his device smoothly, evenly and calmly while
Hladna expelled from his more sharp and unpredictable sounds. Worth
mentioning are Hladna's non-standard ways of making sound - on the last
two tracks he opened the back plate of his synth and played not only
using knobs but also getting inside and abridging contacts with his own
hands (for which he was incidentally struck by the current a couple of
times).

Live recording without any processing, with all it's natural crackles
and tasty overloads. Abstract electronics, minimalism and a little noise.

NAZI BASTARDS FROM ALDEBARAN: INVASION, CD-R

An unknown artifact of the 90-ies Russian industrial scene! Having
recorded several tracks in 1997-1999 the members of the project haven't
done absolutely anything to make the result available for the public,
and they just disappeared in complete obscurity... Years later the
composition "Swastika Man" was released on the "Red Square" compilation
by KultFRONT label. And only now can the gap be considered completely
filled as this disk contains the full legacy of the project.

Music of NBFA is a kind of old school electro industrial: catchy
rhythms, melodies and well thought-out synthetic fillings of tracks.
Various samples spice up the compositions, and their titles like
"Illuminati", "Cleansing the Planet", "Nazi UFO Attacks Paris Nightclub"
unambiguously talk about the ideological basis of this mysterious project.

The Japanese duet Overdose Kunst exists since 2001 and records a strange
sort of music which they call "schizopoetry". Rejection of stylistic
norms in the name of sound-craft freedom, deconstruction and irrational
re-assemblage of musical material - that's what stands behind this term.
This approach allows them to keep a child's purity and frankness in
musical perception with the ability to send an emotional charge without
using settled compositional forms. This disc includes the most song-like
tracks of the band: crookedly recorded guitars, voices emotionally
singing some nonsense in a mixture of several languages, and reversed
melodies. Fine and lyrical post-rock from Japanese experimental

A project of a sculptor and an ethnographer Denis Shapovalov from the
city of Rostov-on-Don, who is also the one and the only member of
ADRIVA, ENMERKAR and MATTER. "Fictio" calls to self-dependent
comprehension of forms by sublimation of clods of clay and granite
monoliths with alchemy of archaic Drone Ambient, giving birth to
resonances and fluctuations of Time. As deep stone strata that move by
one millimetre in a thousand years, humming and drifting drones spread
over the body, moving away all the vanity and fuss.

The release consists of two 35+ minutes parts, one of which was released
as the same-named CDr on Observatory recordsin an edition of 40 copies.

VOICES OF THE DEAD, DVD-R

Photographer and videoartist Yuri Elik is primarily known as one of the
founders and permanent members of multimedia project 2012, creating
audio-video installations on various contemporary art festivals (SKIF,
Heilige Feuer, Multivision, etc.). Apart from this Yuri performs on his
own making video- and slide-shows for a number of experimental musical
bands in St. Petersburg. Yuri is also the video show author for the
performances of Simon Magus ballet written by D. Kakhovskiy and the
designer of several CD artworks and websites.

Gosha Solnzev (also known as "Van Gog" - 1g0g) - big industrial showman,
leader of the project Noises of Russia well-known in Russia, organizer
of several festivals, such as "Noise vs. Glamour", "Military Days",
"Noisy Women", etc. Gosha has always claimed that he plays funeral
music, so it's no wonder he showed interest in the phenomenon of voices
of the dead, discovered by Friedrich Jürgenson in the late 50s of the
past century. Electronic Voice Phenomenon (voices of the dead, Raudive
voices) are the voices of anomalous origin appearing while making
records on tape recorders or other electronic audio devices. EVP
researches claim and have proof that this is a possible way of
communication between physical and some other non-physical planes of
existence.

The exploration of this phenomenon led to an effective cooperation
between Van Gog and Yuri which resulted in a series of live performances
with the "Voices of the Dead" program and this short film, with 24
minutes an obscure psychedelic drama evolving in front of the spectator.
A multi-layered collage of concrete visual images and kaleidoscopic
colour fields constantly transforms, accompanied by unusual and uneasy
sombre ambient with real voices of the dead samples interlaced in it's
structure.

As a bonus this disk also contains a 12-min. slide-film "City Spirits":
alternation of photos by Yuri Elik with his own soundtrack constructed
from city noises. Yuri skillfully focuses attention on subtleties of
usual things that remain unseen to the eye of a usual human being,
generally too busy with thinking over his insubstantial problems and
forgetting about the beauty of the world surrounding him.

The release is packed in a special cardboard sleeve and goes with a
booklet with an encyclopaedic reference about the phenomenon of
electronic voices.
