and improvisation to create texture. Tape manipulation using voices
and loops, field recordings of airport terminals and travelogues
and electro-acoustics are multi-layered in a process similar to
carefully controlled masturbation. It is a mix of low-fi/hi-fi,
analog and digital with novelty, special effects and humour juxtaposed
with serious, hallucinatory journeys into darkness. Experimentation
within the boundaries of available technology is of paramount
importance, although some may say there is nothing new under the sun,

and the Grandmaster of cold made audiable - Benni Nilsen, decided to put
some more effort into their co-operationproject Janitor. Its like an
endless list to mention all the project Peter Andersson was involved in,
here just to name the well known ones: Deutsch Nepal, Frozen Faces,
Bocksholm, Lina Baby Doll and Thurnemans. Janitor has already released
a well received LP called " Richie" on the homebased "Generalstab" label
of Peter Andersson, this CD is one step ahead in perfection of sound and
the use of the distinctive voice of Lina. They packed their equiptment
into an old house in the woods, far from every drop of alcohol and other
civilisation, the result came fast - "Receiving a flower on Mother´s Day"
is a mixture of dark sound-scapes, futuristic psychedelia and bubblegum-
industrialmusic. As allways these two men allways working consiously to
develope the postindustrial style and sound, form and theme, this CD is
a documentary of that fact. Though it´s easy to relate to the sound of
Benni´s project Hazard and Lina´s Deutsch Nepal this record will mesmerize

heavy electronics outfit IRM. Jarl doesn't come with the aggression of that
project, but it does evoke similar feelings of instability and dementia
via more atmospheric means. The disc consists of 17 tracks in total, each
flowing into each other, with the early pieces having an almost cosmic
heaviness (a la Inade) - pulsing and weighty, the sounds of winds sweeping
across a barren and distant orb. As it progresses however, the seeds of
profound sickness and decay are planted and begin to blossom&Mac183;the
tones and textures becoming more surreal and unsettling, the drones a bit
more persistent and penetrating, abandoning listeners in a white walled

Active in the fields of electronic music since 1986, Daniele De
Rossi has released various records and tracks for labels such as
Polimorf, Irma, 66 Rec. and Quantize Records, covering a wide
range of styles. Other activities also include involvement in
a number of live activities and audio-visual installations across
Italy. Another noteworthy item is his interest in analog modular
synthesizers which borders on that of a devout scientist to his
laboratory. But enough chatter, what does the release sound like?
Well, like what you'd expect from "power noise" in a parallel
world where things would live up to their names. In other words,
"Locked in Madness" takes the rhythmical elements and mangles them
with ring-modulated voices, screeching metallic rumbles and salvos
of precision blasts, leaving the tracks with about as much
"club appeal" as a mental asylum packed with Semtex. That's hardly
a bad thing as far as I'm concerned, so put on your straightjacket

When not busy with his hard IDM / breakcore project on the N5MD
label, Keith Baker works under the Sharps Injury moniker for his
noisier pieces. Started back in 2000, this project has evolved
beyond what you're likely to expect from a first release and
provides the sort of variation and skill so deplorably absent
from a number of its rhythmic noise counterparts.
Easily incorporating influences from its brother project,
Sharps Injury isn't shy when it comes to handling melodious
pads and synth lines in the middle of the gritty rhythms. If
your girlfriend is slightly dim, you might be able to fool her
about the format of the release, but there's no denying that
she'll appreciate the catchy beats of Kestrel and Forklift 14
or the epic and howling roars of the Ancestor Cell. Or maybe not,
