ACCELERA DECK: POP POLLING, CD

Accelera Deck is the current recording guise of one Chris Jeely. Since
1997 Jeely has produced 7 full-length albums, and over two handfuls of
limited editions 12”, 7” and CDR singles. Pop Polling is his 8th
full-length and is a bit of a departure from recent Adeck efforts. All
sounds are still created by guitar, but instead of the ear splitting
digital workouts found on his “Sunstrings ep” (Scarcelight, 2004), we
are treated a collection of songs (yes songs!, like verse/chorus/verse…)
highlighting Jeely’s penchant for melody. There is a sublime simplicity
that underpins most of “Pop Polling”, and only on occasion does it veer
into noisier territory. Mostly we are witness to some delicate feedback
and unfolding guitar melodies accompanied by various forms of drones.

Following close on the heels of 2003's Ipsissima Vox, Accelera Deck (aka
Chris Jeely) delivers a 30 minute ep of guitar feedback sonorities. In
much the same way a split speaker created a fascinating "new" guitar
sound, .Jeely's digitally clipped guitar ponderings lend a unique
character to his sound. At times the guitar oscillates freely, notes are
bent and shaken, new clusters emerge, loops spiral out of control,
feedback overwhelms......

masters. This time atmospheres are developed in a less abstract way than

Bardoseneticcube use of percussions, bowls, bells and ritual chants are
mixed with strange ambiance to give it an exquisite and mysterious
martial and virile mystical touch.

The progression of the album invites us to be a part of the mystery,
like we were witnessing the surrouding and the heart of an ancient

LATER DAYS: SONGS OF THE WATCHMAKER, CD

Wayne Jackson (aka Later Days) is intrigued by the complexity of
emergent systems, both natural and computational. In the summer, this
fascination leads him to create obscure computer music software. In the
winter, it sends him outside to hunt mushrooms.

Songs of the Watchmaker is his debut full-length, which follows his 3”CD
(Do, 2000) on the esteemed Irish label Fallt. Working with his own
custom built software, Wayne has created a sinister yet playful album of
squiggly audio drawings harvested from his sonic garden. [Scarcelight]

remastered. Thus reborn as "Rubedo". 'Rubodo' offer two long

acoustic sources.

Pimentola is a Finnish one-man project here focusing on dark &
neoclassical atmospheres. "Hämärän Seppele" is a one piece of music,
which is divide into nine movements/parts which have not been titled
separately.

PSYCHON: APOCALYPSE HAS BEEN DUBBED THE WEEKEND PILL, CD

Apocalypse has been dubbed the weekend pill is the first cd by the Dutch
group formerly known as Psychon Troopers, an incarnation that previously
delivered six cd's. The musicians in Psychon are Lars Meijer, Jantijn
Prins and Coen Polack. Lars Meijer and Coen Polack are also in charge of
the Narrominded recordlabel and the two of them make music as Living
Ornaments.

Prince's brand of funk, rock according to Guided by Voices, German and
British electronica and the free spirit of John Coltrane are but a small
taste of influences that make up the new Psychon cd. 'Apocalypse has
been dubbed the weekend pill' has been recorded on and off over the last
two years. As a result two years of collective musical influences and
ideas have been given a place in this music. Freejazz, krautrock,
ambient, electronica and arenarock are concurring to remain in focus and
while doing so they form interesting hybrids. To give an example: this
cd without a doubt contains the most exciting guitarsolo in electronica
today. The titles of the tracks on this record originate in
spam-mailmessages. With some bewilderment the members of Psychon have
collected the most amazing mail-subjects and advertisements from the
world of gloomy pharmacy, penile enlargement and corporate
selfhelp-courses. [Scarcelight]
