Is Your CD Cover A Mystery To Potential Music Buyers?

Subtext: Believe it, or not, your CD cover may be killing
your music sales. Here is how to completely reverse the
process and enjoy a new sales boom, even if your CD is
a year (or two) old.
________________________________________________

For several years now, through my articles, I have
attempted to convince independent and unsigned recording
artists on how extremely important it is for them to begin
the strong "selling" process of their music by starting with
their CD covers.

After all, that is one of the first elements of your music that
potential music buyers first see, right? Yet, many (if not
most) recording artists still do nothing more than simply
take photographs for their CD covers.

Maybe it's the fact that I've been involved in marketing for
so many years, but I believe that many recording artists
are completely unaware of how many sales they may
actually be losing simply because they have not made
their CD covers an important priority.

For example, look at the title that you have selected for
your CD...don't just glance at it, but really LOOK at it.
Then, consider how you can turn the title into a "scene"
that is acted out instead of just supporting it with another
photo session.

If you are preparing to release a new CD but haven't
created your CD cover yet, you would be wise to seriously
explore your title, then create a thematic scene that will
have people doing "double takes" when they see it.

A CD cover scene that strongly supports your CD title and
makes people stop and pick up the CD, which then causes
them to read its liner notes and, if you are fortunate, will
also inspire them to purchase it to listen to your music.

And, all because you have a scene on your cover that,
literally, stopped them in their tracks instead of a boring
photo of the band members that allowed potential buyers
to keep walking while denying you a potential sale.

When I wrote my first novel titled "Millennium Eve," I also
created its cover. The front cover displays several of my
story's main elements while the back cover displays a
United States flag engulfed in smoke with its stripes
dripping in blood. To see the front cover, go to

"Millennium Eve" link.

Also, for recording artists who already have a CD cover,
take a look at it and, honestly, decide if you have truly
done your CD justice with its current cover.

Now, I've said all of that, to say this...I have a treat for
you...

A number of you have read it already, but for most of you
who have not, please read my short story titled, "The Case
Of The Great CD Cover Mystery." This humorous story is
about a private detective who is on a case to find out why
a band's CD is continuing to fail by not selling, even
though the band is gigging constantly and is popular with
its live performances.

It reads just like a murder mystery, with the exception that
it is about the proverbial murder of a CD. It has several
colorful characters, and when I first published it, it received
raved reviews and comments. I believe you will thoroughly
enjoy it as well.

I welcome your comments on the story. By the way...after
reading it, if you are interested in our creating a CD-selling
thematic cover for your CD, please go to the MuBiz.com site
to read a bit more info on our CD cover concept service as
well as review a sample CD cover concept that we have done
for a client at http://www.MuBiz.com/services.html#CD_COVER

In advance, much thanks.
