Big E's powerful line-up includes bass player Bobby Vega who lays down the rock solid lines that propel Big E’s blistering jams. Vega began his career with Sly and the Family Stone and went on to perform with Billy Preston, Bob Weir, Etta James, and many others, in addition to playing with Zero for 16 years and co-founding KVHW. Another founding member of KVHW is Big E drummer Alan Hertz, also known for his work with Garaj Mahal. Alan keeps the rhythmic core intact while filling in the group's sound with polyrhythmic textures, and subtle ambience. On vocals & rhythm guitar for Big E is Ray White, Frank Zappa’s former front man, and another KVHW original member. Ray has captivated audiences for years with his spontaneity, poetic imagery and soulful voice. The highly touted keyboardist from Garaj Mahal, Eric Levy, is one of the Chicago acid jazz scene’s most sought after musicians and brings the right element of jazz sophistication to Big E.

Over the years the members of Big E have shared the stage with such greats as Bela Fleck, Jerry Garcia, Tito Puente, Steve Vai, Mickey Hart, Tower of Power, Phil Collins, and many others. As is the case with any Big E show, these seasoned musicians bring their positive vibes and spontaneous jams to get the music rolling!
