This group is dedicated to the music and life of the deceased Blues Guitar Legend, Billy Colwell.

I'm the founder of and minister for http://www.YOUtopiaINstitute.org. I was a member of the Billy Colwell Band. I'm currently working on converting, previously unreleased Billy Colwell Band music from live taped gigs in the mid '70s to a series of CDs for release Spring to Summer of 2010.

I dedicated my 2003 CD of originals, LET’S HEAL IT, to Billy and my deceased daughter, Tanisha Rasanna Dyushambee.

B. B. King was Billy’s major influence, which can be heard in Billy’s guitar playing. We once opened for B. B. King at the Boston Gardens arena.

Likewise, Paul Butterfield's band and music was of Billy's favorites and major influence.

Also, Billy, with The Colwell-Winfield Blues Band, opened for Led Zeppelin who was also a favorite and influence for Billy.

“My first New England gig was with Colwell Winfield...when I started the James Montgomery Band the first version of it had Billy Colwell on guitar. When I proposed to Billy that he play in a band with me Billy Mather and Chucky to fill in for times when Colwell Winfield wasn't booked Colwell said "OK, but we have to name the band after you in case it sucks!"
