Hello from Denmark,
I think I can safely say that I am Bill's biggest fan in Denmark and I was so,
so sad to hear of his passing. His music has been a constant in my life for
almost twenty years, since I first heard "Long Gone" on a mixed tape a friend of
mine had in college. I was lucky enough to see him live in Amherst, MA in '94 or
'95. I remember how amused he was when a little girl at the concert told him
that her favorite song was "Grizzly Bear". :-)
I have played his music for many over here and all have loved it. My husband and
I were thinking of trying to plan our next US visit so that we could come to one
of his shows. We had also talked about going to Paris the next time he played
there.
It has been so nice to read all of the messages on this group. Bill is gone, but
his soul lives on in so many places.

Doing some of things is hard as it makes it all the more real but I know it
needs to be shared with all.

asked me to ask for letters from you and you sent them to him when he needed it

together. Not quite ready for announcements but it will be a tribute weekend
(Friday western Mass/Southern Vt) and then Saturday in the Boston area) closer
towards Bill's birthday. Cliff Eberhardt needs to do the traditional birthday
toast a gig. We have a little committee of sorts including our old friend at
Rounder. I'll update when we have more info such as date. And, it will
benefit Musicares.

gave us a little sheet of paper and said that he had a email list for Bill's
fans. We weren't that familiar with mailing lists at the time and as we drove
home Bill was really concerned that Birches would be a mailing list that would
share too much info about himself. Well, he got to know Ron and Denise and
slowly many of the participants of the list. And over time this list became
very important to him. More than just fans.
