Hi Cindy, looking forward to meeting you too.  You can’t miss me & my twin Lisa, we’re only 5ft tall & have long red hair & will be dressed like Candice!  It will be your baby’s first Blackmore’s Night gig :o)  It will be about 10 degrees cooler on Wednesday thank goodness, I do not perform well in the heat but i am marvellous in drizzle!

Looking forward to meeting you in Birmingham, Wendy! :) I've been looking for my corset for like 2 weeks now and can't find it. Don't you hate it when you put something somewhere VERY safe. :( Well, after having a baby this summer it's unlikely it would have fit anyhow. Just hoping this heat wave cools off a bit before Wednesday!

Cindy xx.

Really great show, much less tense than York and a few changes in the set list. Lorely was very much "on the edge" to quote the guitarist. Some really stunning playing from all the band. Ritchie was pulling people from the crowd to dance at the end.
Great fun afterwards in the bar and other places. The pictures of Earl Grey outside the Opera House are quite funny, I'll get them on here soon.

Haven't seen anything yet about the support act, was there one? I still listen to my Gothien cd from the last tour quite a lot so I hope so! Nice when they introduce us to new music. :D

Yes I had this as well, not from Caroles usual email, looks as though it was sent from the website but it does look suspiciously fake to me, when they were posting message to various facebook groups they kept mentioning candice wife of Richie etc official sources would not have wrote that and there was a few spelling mistakes as well.

Elen, those email addresses can be faked. Would be good to get some official clarification here from Kev or Richard maybe, but I can't see Candice putting out an email like that with so many punctuation errors and not even having her name capitalized properly. It's very unprofessional. And why is here new page "owned" but people that aren't her, Ritchie or Carol? Sorry, but I'm not buying it.

Thanks, Kev. Just seems really suspicious. And ofc if it isn't true, I'm sure Carol would want to know.

Btw, show last night was AMAZING!!! Best show of theirs I've ever seen! I'd swear I couldn't have written a set list that contained more of my old favourites. They didn't stuff like The Times They are a Changin' and Hanging Tree which I never expected to hear live. :) Was a full house as well. Can't wait for Saturday now!!

Email to carole about 15 minutes ago asking about it. Glad the show went well,
they did Hanging Tree in York and Buxton as well, not Times though. We did get
1st of May in York, which was rather splendid.

Subject: The Birminghamm gig - My quest for a restraining order!

Hi Everyone,
I’m still on a high from the Birmingham gig last night, one of the best gigs I’ve seen them do.  The musical highlight of the night for me was actually hearing them play The Times They Are A Changin’, I love their interpretation of this song, I never thought I’d witness them play it live.  There were many other highlights of the night, Ritchie handed me a wooden stool & asked me place it on the floor in front of me, I thought that perhaps it was in his way on the stage & he needed it out of his way!  Then I remembered that Kev said that Ritchie had pulled some people up on stage to dance at one of the gigs & may be the stool was for that purpose.  Anyway the gig carried on with a wonderful set list, Candice was magical as always & Ritchie was in a very playful mood (leaving poor Candice exasperated with him at times!)  Ritchie gave out beers as usual, my friend Steve was the recipient of two of them and a handshake. Half way through the gig Autumn wondered onto the stage, Candice scooped her up in her arms & there was a lovely touching moment when Autumn reached out for her Dad & Ritchie gently held her hand, it was a lovely unexpected treat to see Autumn.  Then as the band were saying goodbye for the last time over the speakers the song Snoopy vs The Red Baron started playing & Ritchie came over and hauled (& I mean hauled) me, Lisa & our friend Denise plus quite a few other ladies onto the stage to dance with him.  I immediately turned into a teenager & threw my arms around him a planted a big kiss on his cheek (he should know better than invite Birmingham women up on stage!).  We then had a little hug & then linked arms & skipped around, he acted like a gentleman but I bet he was panicking inside!!!  Anyway, once i let go of Ritchie I had a few twirls with Candice which was out of this world, then danced with other ladies on stage then set my sights on Earl Grey of Chamay, for a strange man he can’t half twirl! Then we had to try and leave the stage using the poor wooden stool & try to get back some of our dignity!

One last highlight was meeting Cindy from this group and he husband, what lovely people.

I hope those going to the remaining gigs have a great time, this band just get better & better

Wendy, you're amazing! It was soooo good to meet you and please add me on facebook! It's just under Cindy Toth. You should see a pic of my adorable son with his bear hat on as my avatar at the moment. :) :)

The show was indeed amazing and the best I've seen of their to date. They really seem to have mastered the art of stage presence now, by which I mean the whole band and not just Candice who has always had it. Earl Grey is a bit scary but I'll try and have a twirl at Salisbury or Swindon to get over my fears. ;)

The big change for me in this tour really seems to be the bands ability to be a whole band, a musical entity in their own right and not just Ritchie's side project he is doing to keep his wife happy. They never seemed that way to me, but not even the more cyncial of Deep Purple fans could have walked away from that show last night saying rubbish about how deep down Ritchie really wants to go back to his hard rock roots. I've never seen them happier and that spread to the crowd.

Seeing Autumn was indeed the icing on the cake for me. All the time I was pregnant I had listened to Autumn Sky over and over in the car and anytime Strawberry Girl came on my little boy kicked like crazy. He still loves the song and I sing it to him as a lullaby. The smiles I get would melt your heart. To hear it last night and see Autumn just brought the whole past year together for me and I will admit there were a few tears. It was magical. The whole night was just magical. xxxxx.

Thanks Cindy, you’re not bad yourself!  Hope you can understand my English as you are American (as Candice said last night about Ritchie!)  I’ve sent you an add :o)

Yes, the gig & band was amazing.  I forgot to mention Gypsy Rose, she was outstanding.  The BN gigs I’ve seen without a violin player felt like something was missing, she played beautifully.
I hope you get to dance on the stage at Salisbury or Swindon, make sure you’ve got sturdy boots on for the climb up to the stage!

I was surprised to see Autumn, I knew they were bringing her with them to the UK, it was a nice surprise.  As Candice said, wonder how she’ll rebel when she’s older!  I’m glad the gig was so emotional for you for the right reason, made it even more special for you.

Hope to see you soon, let us all know how you get on at the gigs.

~ Wendy ~

I'm so glad everyone had a great show, I was getting tweets from my spy as the
show went on, and even that cynical old hack was moved to applause at the end.
And more dancing onstage, and Autumn hogging the spotlight. In Buxton Ritchie
was trying to coax her off stage and she said no and stamped her feet.

Kev, the Brum gig was so brilliant, one of the best i’ve ever seen. Ritchie was in such a good mood.  I loved what you said about how Autumn acted on stage...me thinks she’s a chip off the old block!

And more dancing onstage, and Autumn hogging the spotlight. In Buxton Ritchie was trying to coax her off stage and she said no and stamped her feet.

Cindy, what was the Salisbury gig like?  Did you have a good time?  Did they play any different songs?

So sad but time to say good bye to BN again! Hopefully it won't be too long before they return but they left us with some amazing memories with their show in Swindon last night! For all that the city itself isn't anything special the venue was actually really nice. Very low stage and very personal. The show was sold out and the crowd was very enthusiastic which was wonderful! Really, really a good night. Oh, and I got my twirl with Ritchie at the end! Wendy, you're right! He doesn't let go, does he!! :) I also got a twirl with Candice and Autumn! I'll be glowing for weeks after this one!! xxx.

I’m glad you got a twirl with Ritchie & Candice as well Cindy....and Autumn how wonderful.  I’m glad the gig was so good, especially as it was their last one in England.  I can’t wait until they come to Great Britain again, let’s hope it’s not too soon...unless they decide to have another little one & we will have to wait a few years again!

Ok, so in this lovely afterglow of the UK tour and while we all still have our garb out and at the ready, it struck me that it might be nice to try and keep this momentum going! Besides, I'm always looking for excuses to dress up. ;) So would anyone be interested in trying to plan a meet up (I'm thinking maybe twice a year, once further north and once further south) where we could all descend on some lovely old-world style pub in garb for a renaissance style meal?

I put this on the fan club forum as well as it seems that some people belong to one but not the other. Just thought it would be a fun idea and a chance to get to see each other again before the next tour. :)

Hi All,

Hope you all enjoyed the tour!

Does anyone have the setlists for the shows - a few of them are at setlistfm.com but i would love to see them all!
Some great rare songs were played like 25 years!

Tim

So it seems there are quite a few people interested in this. How does January sound? Or Kev, do you know if there is a more appropriate time that would coincide with planning for the dvd release or such? Any thoughts on locations as well? What do you guys think? :)

I doubt the DVD will be ready for release until the summer at the earliest. Next
year I have no idea what the tour dates are planned, however I doubt there will
be any UK tour, you can probably guarentee a German tour. Possibly some US
dates, and an outside bet of Japan dates.
It will be a quiet year in terms of releases, probably just the DVD. Be
interesting to see if Candice tours though.

As for a meet, I would recomend waiting until the spring, best to avoid
potential bad weather. As for location, I would say York, I can probably get us
a venue there as well. Other locations could be Cambridge, Aylesbury, Lincoln
and Birmingham.

cheers
