Greetings All,

Sadly, an unhappy soul posted a goodbye letter today announcing the closing of her Yahoo group: Lovely_Candice.
The anger in her letter prompted me to write to Carole Stevens, Management for Blackmore's Night.
Below is Carole's response.

Regarding a posting on your site-sent to me by several upset fans- Here is my response- post it if you chose- as you know- I only give you the truth and the facts-nothing made up-so here it is-
I'm not a fan of Candice or Blackmore's Night anymore, because there
are to much bad things that happened.
Meanwhile I even think, that they're people, who get involved with
so much good things like to save pets and stuff, but they take the
money from their fans in such a rude and wrong way.
Let me explain to you, why I' thinking like that now:
They take really high prices for their merchandise (like
the "Japanese Tour Book") I ordered it and at first it became lost
at the post office, but they sent another one. It wouldn't be a
problem, things like that happen. But that's not all, because the
real surprise came, as I opened it. There wasn't a book (By hearing
the word "book" and seeing the price of 23 bugs I thought of a real
book of, maybe 20 and more pages), there was a booklet with 7 or 8
(?) pages. Are they kidding!? 23 bugs for 7 or 8 pages!?----
 
Anyone who attends concerts and buys imported materials would know that these books cost us well over $30 to import for our fans -Blackmore's Night actually sell this "tour book" tour collectors at a loss -and I am sorry she was disappointed-
 
 

So, I ordered the Magiquest CD, which came to me and was totally
broken. They sent a new one.  Blackmore's Night has nothing to do with the magiquest cd-she needs to contact people she bought this from-would she complain to Harrods about something she bought from Macys?

And finally there was the Paris Moon CD/DVD. Well, first there was
the promo stuff and the video of Village Lanterne, which
included : "From the new Paris Moon Bonus CD"--
 
We never said the music video was on Paris Moon- many many artists put out music videos that are not on their cds-if we planned to include it we would have specified this-it was a music video to promote a song-like millions of others do in this industry-This is  a record company decision-not a Blackmore's Night decision-

So, of course, I ordered the Paris Moon CD/DVD, but there was no
fucking video on it. So, I ordered it from an another seller, but it
was the same shit, so WHY the hell are they lying like that???-
They should say something like "only available on the later
releasing CD/DVD" but not such shit like "oh, it's on the fucking
CD/DVD", that sucks!
Of course, I didn't get any answer from the management to my
question, because they only send answers to mails which include
compliments and not to sad stuff, oh, that sucks so much, I can't
believe it…------------------------------How about writing to the correct management? I have never heard from her- I don't know who she is writing to-but not to Blackmore's Night management-
this unhappy lady makes me sad to think that she was taken advantage of-but certainly not by anything we did or said- She can certainly chose her own path-and decide for herself who she choses to enjoy-but please don't blame people that are only caring about their fans and their music-That is unfair!

02.12.07: With only 6 days to go now until the Greatest Guitarist Poll 2007 is announced we have been in touch with the Ritchie Blackmore's management (Carole Stevens) and have forwarded some of the amazing comments people have posted on the poll which Carole has sent direct onto Ritchie.

Carole says "Thanks to the open communications between the fans and Ritchie's Management, he has received many of the comments that were posted on this poll and he is thankful to all his fans for taking the time to write in"

I made the choice because "Ritchie Blackmore" is a god on earth. His golden hands are unbeatable. That's my opinion because I am a really huge fan of his work he did with any of his bands in the past and now.
Ritchie has been my favourite guitar player for years. Not only does he play guitar like no one else, but he is one of the greatest songwriters in the world. He is the total opposite of "generic".
I beginnig to play guitar, because I saw Ritchie Blackmore. And it's change my life. Big thaks to Ritchie.
His playing touches my soul
Ritchie Blackmore is the god of guitarplaying......
He´s been number one for me since Purple and to today´s Blackmores Night.

I just spoke with a local radio station out of Wilkes Barre/Scranton,
PA (it covers a large section of Northeastern PA).  They have Winter
Carols in their possession and will be playing several songs from the
CD including Christmas Eve.  They play Christmas music 24/7 from
Thanksgiving through Christmas.  If you get a chance, please call them
and request Christmas Eve.  The radio station is MAGIC93 and their

BLACKMORES NIGHT Tribute Band (Brighton / Saltdean, UK): Female vocalist required

 

Hi. I'm Martin (52), play guitar, done all the rocky stuff over the years and now find I really enjoy the music of 'Blackmore's Night'. So I really need a female singer who also loves the songs and would like to try singing them. (Music is Medieval Folk/Rock look them up on youtube http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=blackmore%27s+night&search=Search  or Google them) Start as a duo; then maybe work up slowly to a full tribute band. Would be nice to play a few quiet pubs of a Sunday afternoon and take it from there. If you also play the Flute, Fiddle, Tin Whistle, percussion, or similar; that would be great but not essential. Interested? Then drop me a line.

I'd also like to hear from any other musicians that would like to be involved at the full band stage. Fiddle/Flute/Guitar-Acoustic and Electric/Bass/Keys/Drums/Percussion/Bagpipes and anything else you can think of. If you can stand on one leg; while doing any of the above that would be very nice. Idea is to get a varied bunch of Minstrels together to try and avoid the unreliable "sorry I can't make the rehearsal/gig tonight as my cat has died" problem that always seems to occur when forming a band. So some combination can always play. Well that is the idea - sounds good on paper!

We are very disappointed for the general strike that has paralysed our country since yesterday morning. Nobody can find gasoline anymore and people cannot move. So our show has been cancelled. We are going to wait for the next show on December 20th. Bad luck!

The East Coast Fan Site http://www.bnecfc.net is back up and the 10th anniversary screen saver is ready for fans to download. I have had a fan say that they do not work in Windows Vista though. I'll have to look into that, but I only have Windows 2000. They should work in Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, and XP.

BLACKMORES NIGHT Tribute Band (Brighton / Saltdean, UK): Female vocalist required

Hi. I'm Martin (52), play guitar, done all the rocky stuff over the years and now find I really enjoy the music of 'Blackmore's Night'. So I really need a female singer who also loves the songs and would like to try singing them. (Music is Medieval Folk/Rock look them up on youtube http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=blackmore%27s+night&search=Search or Google them)

 

Start as a duo; then maybe work up slowly to a full tribute band. Would be nice to play a few quiet pubs of a Sunday afternoon and take it from there. If you also play the Flute, Fiddle, Tin Whistle, percussion, or similar; that would be great but not essential. Interested? Then drop me a line.

I'd also like to hear from any other musicians that would like to be involved at the full band stage. Fiddle/Flute/Guitar-Acoustic and Electric/Bass/Keys/Drums/Percussion/Bagpipes and anything else you can think of. If you can stand on one leg; while doing any of the above that would be very nice. Idea is to get a varied bunch of Minstrels together to try and avoid the unreliable "sorry I can't make the rehearsal/gig tonight as my cat has died" problem that always seems to occur when forming a band. So some combination can always play. Well that is the idea - sounds good on paper!

17.12.07: We at GodofGuitar.com acknowledge that this years votes for the Greatest Guitarist Poll were very close indeed. Following a barrage of complaints from Ritchie Blackmore and Eddy Grant fans about the results of the Greatest Guitarist Poll 2007 we have decided to do a recount of the votes and are delighted to announce that Jim Brodie will be personally attending the GodofGuitar datacentre in Reading to oversee that the process takes place fairly and that no intervention has taken place to incorrectly tarnish the outcome. All being well we should be posting a video of this event tomorrow showing again true transparency in the voting process. We expect the results on Wednesday at the earliest.

QUEENSRŸCHE, BLACKMORE'S NIGHT Singers To Star In 'House Of Eternity'

 

Fires At Midnight Films  http://www.firesatmidnightfilms.com/  has announced the supernatural thriller "House of Eternity" that will feature Geoff Tate of QUEENSRŸCHE and Candice Night of BLACKMORE'S NIGHT in their feature film debuts.

As previously reported, QUEENSRŸCHE will perform the entirety of its "Operation: Mindcrime I" and "II" albums for the very first time in the UK via a 10-date June 2008 tour. This epic theatrical prog metal extravaganza will take in three hours, and will include an intermission, and in addition to the core members of the band, will feature actors re-enacting the storyline behind both of these compelling albums.

Commented singer Geoff Tate: "This is the most extensive stage show we have ever put together. Working with the actors and creating the different scenes helped us to really tell the story. Between ritualistic execution, working prostitutes, motorcycle crashes and everything in between, we are able to really draw the audience in to the story."

In 2006 the band performed the entirety of both albums on a tour of North America to sell-out audiences. The marathon show included a full over-the-top, theatrical production complete with surround sound, video imagery and actors portraying the concept albums' characters onstage, as they were originally intended.

In the grand tradition of all captivating theatrical rock extravaganzas (THE WHO's "Tommy", and PINK FLOYD's "The Wall"), QUEENSRŸCHE's "Operation: Mindcrime I" and "II" is not just a typical rock 'n' roll concert. Combined with the core members of the band, the production is a totally explosive and highly absorbing theatrical rock experience with actors re-enacting the storylines from both albums.

CANDICE NIGHT OF BLACKMORES NIGHT SET TO CO-STAR IN HORROR FILM HOUSE OF ETERNITY

 

Filming Scheduled for New York and North Carolina Spring 2008

 

New York, NY—(January 17, 2008) Multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter Candice Night of the Renaissance-flavored Blackmores Night will appear in the supernatural thriller House Of Eternity, along with Queensryche vocalist Geoff Tate, a major motion picture set for release in the fourth quarter of 2008 from Fires At Midnight Films.

Night’s character is Emily Grayson, the wife of the film’s antagonist whose life becomes embroiled in the post-witch hunt paranoia of the 1700’s.
