Hello,
Just found this deal. Thought it might be fun to do. Haven't done a
segment yet. Should have time in the next few days.
My topic will be home repairs, buying and selling homes, home
inspections etc. I'm a retired general contractor and active Property
Inspector.

Jim,
I was told that we were about three weeks out on the click to call feature.
You can prerecord the show then play the file when it's time to go air if
you like.

Any updates as to when the internet link for the broadcasters will be
operational?
I'm holding off doing my first BTR show as I have not got a great phone
connection - though the broadband is okay! I'm too cheap to pay the
Skype call rate to the USA as well ;-)
Are there any rules on pre-recoding your whole show and then uploading
it for playing?

Thanks all. I’ve already placed a number buttons on my 4 blogs and lens (Squidoo.com) and sent a card to my complete address book making the announcement. By the way, is any one else a member of Linkedin, Xing, or groups or there subgroups? I think that there is a big audience there. If you like, I could put a couple of announcements in the Linkedin groups that I belong. What I think my work is if we each take a social networking group and put a joint message under the name of person that belongs to that group.
What do you think?

To answer your questions about listenership, one thing I've found to be helpful is to have guest speakers on your show. Most times your guest speakers will blast out an email to their mailing list announcing that they will be on your show which of course will attract people to listen. In addition, you might want to start a MySpace account so that you can "collect" friends and blast your show announcements there as well. Don't forget your own mailing list and web site as a resource to collect more people.

Round table discussions also help as you will bring an audience that
stems from 4 or 5 different people as they will help you promote your
show beforehand also!

Just a few tips: e-mail everyone you know, blog about it anywhere you think people would be interested, invite interesting guests on your topic, put the Blog Talk Radio button on your blog, have fun! :)
I just finished my second show. I think I had 3 people listening. Wow!! The subject of my series is Addiction. I’m attempting build an audience of people around the larger issue of addiction. The frame I use is to talk about all types of addiction from foods to work and all the substances. The special angle I have is that provide I justify all my work based in my Christian faith. I'll be happy to chime in. :) I'm Lowell Feld, former netroots

Democratic-oriented political shows, and also have my own show on

excited about Blog Talk Radio, as I believe it to be an important step
forward for the netroots. It also continues the "flattening" of
politics away from the top-down, corporate media-dominated environment
we've been living in for decades now...

Please note Todd A Barnett requested that we send you this coupon. So, your email address is completely secure and private - and offered to no one else. You will not receive any other emails from CafePress.com (unless you opt-in to do so).
I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Todd Andrew Barnett, and I'm the host of Liberty Cap Talk Live on BlogTalkRadio.com. Just recently my show just ended its first season, and will be back on the air on February 22 (which is next week, and it's coming up fast, btw). If any of you guys want to check out my show, it's at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/libertycaptalklive.
My show's official website is Liberty Cap Talk Live with Todd Andrew Barnett, and it's at http://www.libertycaptalklive.com. Please donate to the site if you want more content added to it and to help pay for the hosting fees and other costs for the site. It also has show archives which, I hope, will be updated by tomorrow, so please check it out if you can.
I also have an online store via Cafe Press, which sells merchandise brandishing my show's logo on many items, including apparel like t-shirts, sweaters, hoodie sweaters, golf shirts as well as household items like mugs, large mugs, and steins. I have lots of stuff on that store site; it's called the Liberty Cap Talk Live Store. You can find it at http://www.cafepress.com/lctls.
I also want to thank BlogTalkRadio.com for allowing us to host our own shows on there. I have some experience as an Internet radio talk show host, particularly when I hosted The Todd Andrew Barnett Show on Lycos Talk Radio (when that site used to offer Internet talk radio software and technology back in early 2001 up until late 2001).
Anyway, please check out my show archives on my host page, and stay abreast of the old show archives that will be on my official website. More to follow soon.
Thanks, everyone, and I look forward to reading and talking to every single one of you guys! :)

Its certainly challenging - I have absolutely no experience at this sort
of thing and I am picking it up as I go along. Even built myself a new

and as you have guessed the only problem I am having with it is the

Your doing fine, been listening to your program. We are ALL doing very
well on Blogtalkradio.
Its a new platform and we are all learning the ropes. Myself I have 12
years of talk radio terrestrial radio experience and I find myself a
rookie at this.
I never had to run the board myself, so I am still rather slow at it
here.
The technical issues are something that BTR is striving to eliminate as
best they can.

My name is Karen Morris and I am the host of KsFrameofMind. I am also a fan of alot of your shows and am hoping to have volunteers to come and be interviewed on my show.
I recently had Ghost from The Ghost Show on and it was a blast! I don't mind what your topic and what your political stand, I would love to have you come on, promote your show and give people who listen to your show a chance to see you relaxed and comfortable in an atmosphere where they can call in and just speak to you about ...you! What could be better for a fan than to get to know their favorite host on a personal level? Of course for all the host's who do comedic or character based shows...well, those characters are welcome also and bring your crew on over and sit in !!
I don't know about you all , but I am still learning as I go and man, have I messed up BIG TIME many times! I have no clue why half of my effects come across screaming and other's you cannot hear and they are ALL RECORDED AT THE SAME VOLUME!! Just silly little donkey ass stuff like that ...but it's still annoying ! Lol.
I wish you all success in your shows and come on over and chat!!!
hi everyone ... nice to have a yahoo! group (something comfortable and
familiar to use) ... thanks for setting it up.
i am loving the BTR and what it is becoming. as i am getting more
experience doing the shows ... not having any communication
experience, its really been quite the journey and learning experience.
i have much respect for those who do radio ... something i've always
thought "how hard is it to talk?" its so different than speaking to a
room full of people. i was surprised to see how incredibly
intimidating it was talking to "no one" ... i can speak to a hall full
of people, no problem, but speaking to yourself with no one else
around or with you ... a different trip altogether.
one thing i was thinking about is having "private" shows ... kind of
like pay-per-view, and only those people you invite or pay to play get
to join in. and is there any future of getting video involved like
what the "hello world" people are getting up and running?
obviously being able to customize the interface page would be
WONDERFUL, but i know you are working on that, i just look forward to
it as well as being able to include international participants with
just a click-in rather than an international call.
keep up the great work ...
peace & harmony,
elaine

Thats really excellent news! The phone is a bit of a pain in the
somewhere or other :-)
Though I hope the phone will remain an option for those computer users
who cannot handle the complexities of headsets & mike etc... and I can
think of a few of my listeners who would easily fit into that group.

Us foreign chappies would like to know if BTR ever likely to get any
Skype numbers so we can Skype directly in rather than having to use
Skype to dial the USA and then dial out to the BTR number?

Hi Everyone. I am the host liaison with BTR. It sure is quiet in
this group. Why doesn't everyone introduce themselves and tell us a
little about your show.
Feel free to use this group to ask any questions, I am sure someone
else is wondering the same thing. Also, let us know what sort of
features you would like to see on BTR.
