LOST & FOUND

The Lost & Found was founded in 1973 by original members Allen
Mills, Dempsey Young, Gene Parker & Roger Handy. They were a group
of guys "lost" in other kinds and styles of music until they "found"
each other. That's where the name came from. Allen and the fellow
band members were asked to do a local cable TV show. Before that the
band had not played anywhere too far from their own basement. To
meet that deadline they decided to use the name The Lost & Found
until they could think of a better one. That was in 1973, and now
the name The Lost & Found is one of the most respected and
recognized names in bluegrass music. Their TV appearances lead to
wider attention among bluegrass music fans, which soon lead to
recording and traveling, both of which became a way of life. This
would cause the groups first member change. After three recording
projects on the Outlet label Roger Handy would leave the band, being
replaced by Bubba Chandler. The group started getting national
recognition in 1980 when they signed with Rebel Records in Roanoke,
Virginia. Their first self titled Rebel session The Lost & Found,
produced a song called Leftover Biscuits, written by Harold Handy
who is Roger's brother. Leftover Biscuits would be the start of what
every band must have to survive. Every band has to have a signature
song or songs that people will recognize.
Lost & Found's next Rebel project, Endless Highway, produced more of
the same. Allen Mills, Wild Mountain Flowers for Mary, and Love of
the Mountains, still remain today what we all know as standards. It
was during this period that the group enjoyed a highly successful
European tour, as well as the States and Canada.
The middle 80's would bring more member changes. Steve Wilson joined
the group on the guitar, and fiddle player Steve Thomas was added.
The Suns Gonna Shine project on Rebel was recorded by these new
members and is still one of the groups best sellers, with songs like
The Rabbit Song and Whitehouse Blues. The Deal and Hymn Time was
recorded on Rebel by the same band and would be original member Gene
Parker's last recordings with the group. Since that time Allen and
Dempsey have had players and singers come and go but they have never
lost their trademark sound or their widespread fan base.
The newer Lost & Found recordings on the Rebel label such, as
January Rain, and Ride through the Country, as well as Just Pickin
on the Copper Creek record label, are still fan favorites.
The Lost & Found, Always entertaining and always there for the folks
who have always been there for them.

HICKORY PROJECT

What started as a routine experiment has turned into a revolutionary
project, henceforth known as The Hickory Project. The band features
hard–driving traditional and original bluegrass with the expert
licks of 1999 National Mandolin Champion Anthony Hannigan and
Florida Fiddle Champion Sue Cunningham providing the foundation for
an outstanding performance.
The Hickory Project is globally acclaimed. They have captivated
audiences throughout Europe, both the main land and Isles, Australia
and all through the US. As musical ambassadors Hickory Project is
taking their music worldwide.
In addition to touring and recording, this Pennsylvania based band
also promotes their own festival. Hickory Fest takes place each
August in Wellsboro, PA, the band's hometown. The festival serves as
a venue for the fantastic artists the band meets on their travels.
Hickory Fest, now in its 5th year, has gained national recognition
among both artists and audiences. With attendance growing each year,
Hickory Project's mission to bring outstanding music back to the
community is a success .

The Hickory Project has now produced 1 DVD and 6 CDs under their own
label, Hickory Productions. The Hickory Project has captured that
youthful/soul-felt hunger to please their audiences worldwide.
Whether it is straight-forward traditional or a flare for the new
realm in acoustic music, the Hickory Project is gaining ground

LOST HIGHWAY
Lost Highway is built around the smooth lead singing and rhythm
guitar of Ken Orrick. His warm, soulful voice and his fine original
songs, written in the best traditional style, define the Lost
Highway sound. He is a stylist in the tradition of his musical
mentors: the Stanley Brothers, Larry Sparks, Lester Flatt and Melvin
Goins. Eric Uglum applies his powerful and heartfelt vocals as well
as his expressive lead playing on guitar and mandolin. A sought-
after session player, Eric's playing and singing can be heard on
over fifty CD projects to date. He has performed or recorded with
notables such as Alison Krauss and Ralph Stanley. Dick Brown's
precise and rock solid banjo playing and smooth baritone vocal
reflect the influence of those he admires: Earl Scruggs, J.D. Crowe,
Bill Emerson and Alan Munde. Dick has performed with such notables
as Lynn Morris, David Parmley and Laurie Lewis. Fiddler Mike Tatar
plays in the style of his mentors Benny Martin and Bobby Hicks. A
graduate of both UCSC and the music program at South Plains College
in Leveland, Texas, Mike has performed with several groups including
The David Grisman Bluegrass Experience and The Laurel Canyon
Ramblers. Bassist, Joe Ash, also a graduate of the music program at
South Plains College, has been a long time mainstay in the
California bluegrass scene. He has recently performed with Ron
Speers and Pacific Crest. The members of Lost Highway are united in
their love and respect for traditional bluegrass. With their
unforgettable trio harmonies, amazing instrumental prowess and
relaxed, friendly stage manner, they are sure to be a hit at any
festival or concert stage.
