'Hi
The Update:
The Badly Bent did a dandy SW Picker's show Friday night at Covenant. Nice guys,
great musicians and a good mix of originals, classic bluegrass and some "beyond
tunes. Why, you ask, would you drive to the Q when the lads are playing at the
Brewing Company Saturday night. Well SW Pickers shows at Covenant are the
closest ting I've found to Chicago's Bluegrass Legends concerts...nice room,
attentive crowds who love the music and most important good to great sound. The
good news for Santa Fe fans is that the boys are planning to use their own sound
system at the Brewing company rather than the house system, which usually sounds
like any band is playing through a broken pay phone. So I'm hopeful that The
Badly Bent will sound good at the Brewing Company.

The
Bluegrass Virus
Don't worry, it's not the Swine Flu (or even the Whistle Pig Flu... a clever
tribute to my Chicago band). What it is is a way to grow the bluegrass and
traditional music community in New Mexico. Since you are reading this, you are
likely a member of Bluegrass New Mexico. What's more you likely have friends
who are, or might be interested in this music. So what would be lovely if you
invited them to join us. Two ways: you can go to the Bluegrass New Mexico home
page and click on invite in the upper left side of the page and enter your
friend's email addresses. Or you can send them a personal email, tell them what
you like about Bluegrass New Mexico and invite them to visit
http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/Bluegrassnewmexico/ and click on the Join
link. The more people who know about what's happening, the greater the chances
people will come out to hear the music and that means that eventually there will
be more music to hear. And remember that any Bluegrass New Mexico member can
post events to the calendar, upload and share pictures and files and post
messages to the entire membership! (And check out the file drawer, there's some
cool stuff there.)

Phone:   505-753-5458
Notes:   The Espanola Weekly Jam is located at the Valley View United Methodist Church. The church is located at 827 Spruce Street in Espanola just north of Espanola City Hall. It is on the left or west side of Paseo de Onate (Why. 84) north towards Chama. Spruce which is the main entrance road to Espanola's hospital. The jam normally starts on Sunday afternoons at 1:00 and lasts until around 4:00. However, the starting time may vary to meet the needs of the church on Sundays. That time will be advertised in the local paper and passed around via our local email list. We also ask the participants to chip in to help defray the cost of the facilities so each week we pass the hat to cover those costs. All levels are welcome and the only rule we have is: there are no rules other than being friendly, respectful and enthusiastic. If you're in the area or feel like journeying to the beautiful Espanola Valley to play some great music with great folks, please feel free to join us.

If you have any questions call Mike Bremer at 505-753-5458 - Or email . If you would like to be placed on our local email list please send Mike a message.

Hello Everybody,
This Tuesday we will be playing at the Albuquerque Press Club. It is a private lounge, which is conducive to an intimate and friendly jamming environment. Laura and Damon kindly made arrangements with management, so thank you. The press club is located at 201 Highland Park Circle. From I-25 and Central, the press club is on the first left hand turn "Elm street". Drive, or walk, up the hill of Highland Park and you will find an old house. You cannot miss it.
If you have trouble call me (Peter) 505-366-8181. Lets keep the jam going.

All levels welcome
Primarily acoustic bluegrass music
