Stevie Ray!!! where it could have gone!!! I think
that the world's music would be in a different place
had Stevie not died... He was the man that carried
the blues to where it is today. I know for me it
directed what I did for a living from 1987-1993, 6 1/2
years of running a late night, live entertainment blues
bar that took off on hiring local bands that played
his music. My life was change forever, when I found
the Blues... THanks StevieRay!!!!, hope you can see
this message!!! Hey Hurricane Slim, keep jammin', I
just started learning the bass, accoustic guitar, &
electric guitar, at the age of 37, and its going great. If
I could go back to 16,...#%..*.//@-=-=... <br>Good
Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<br> joebuckel@...

I did a benefit in NC for the Child Alert Org.
Their sister group is Angel House which was founded by
Wayne Nelson of LRB. He was there that night giving a
plaque to my friends and he performed right before me.
I've had Kitty Wells and others do the same thing.
But, he was different. He's an absolutely wonderful
human being. No ego, no Star symptoms. Just a good all
round guy, who sold a CD from my fiance Jesse Wilson's
table for us while we were away.Nice talented guy.
My favorite Blues Artist...That should be easy.
But, I like them for different reasons.Billy Holiday,
Janis Joplin , Muddy Waters ,Robert Johnson. See what I
mean. Totally different, moods emotions sound. I just
love the blues.

Hi there, I am new here as well. My fav artist?
That is hard to answer. My son had a homepage and told
me to put one up.. I wanted to tell a little about
myself.... and since blues is a big part of my life... I
started to share about some artists. Then more came and I
couldn't stop LOL. So many really, both Blues and
Bluesrock and finding new ones all the time. ok, maybe a
few: Howlin' Wolf, Elmore James, Muddy Waters, Roy
Buchanan, Rory Gallagher, SRV, Gary Moore, Johnny Winter
Wow, got the club up and running. It is great. So
first question, is it ok if i post this link in my club
so some of my members can check it out? <br>And
second question...who is yalls fave blues
artist?...<br><br>keep on rockin'!<br>foxy lady

Beach, I'll let ya'll know how it goes. Has anyone seen,
"Bela Fleck and the Fleck Tones"? They were GREAT when
they played last month. I recommend if you ever have a
chance to see this band, Victor Wooden is the bass
player, and Steve Bailey(who lives in MB) showed up to

Hey all,<br><br>I've got a new release featuring
myself, Bobby Forrester, Johnny Gale, Bernard "Pretty"
Purdie, and Ray Alexander. I'm trying to find a
distributor who handles both blues AND small indie labels.
I've heard lots of horror stories, but if anyone knows
of a good, reputable distributor who pays a fair
price and works with my promoter, I would really
appreciate it.<br>Thanks!<br>- Russell "Hitman"

"The blues had a child, and they called it rock
and roll."<br> -- Muddy Waters<br><br>Following World
War II, America enjoyed great prosperity, as did the
blues. "Post-War Blues," also called electric blues,
represented a shift in the blues from the 1930’s. Although
this name seems to clearly delineate eras, the actual
transformation in the blues was not as clear cut. The music of
Post-War blues was a product of the events surrounding the
previous twenty years. The Depression, that caused the
migration of thousands of blacks to the northern industrial
cities and west coast, resulted in a different social
setting for blacks and the blues. This social migration
sent Texas blues musicians like T-Bone Walker heading
west, and Delta artists like Muddy Waters and John Lee
Hooker travelling to Chicago and Detroit. The general
economic prosperity of the industrial cities in the years
after World War Two also affected blacks, contributing
to a huge increase in demand for blues artists and
their records. Blacks had more disposable income, and
they spent it at nightclubs and bars.<br><br>The
migration of blacks coincided with the development and
increased use of an innovation that changed the blues
forever: the electric guitar. The blues had been moving
away from its field holler and work song roots since
the turn of the century and away from the "country"
blues styles of the South since the mid-thirties. But
the electric guitar would change the dynamics of the
music. For the first time, the sound of the blues
changed, reflecting a newer, urban music. This new sound
would attract a new audience as well, with effects that
would change popular culture forever.<br><br> from
