Re: [Bob_Bennett] New Year 2007

Hey I was listening to that song on a CD in the car  as I drove on the wrong side of the road only this morning!

But, it wasn't BB singing it?

So easy question guys,  Who was singing?

Happy New Year America

Chris

I've learned from Bob. Keep it simple :-) Keep it fresh. Keep on
singing dear brother.

I'd like to write the song of songs
Convince you all that you should come along
But I'll probably never live that long
Still Jesus died for you

Sit around and make up clever lines
And toss them out as they dance thru my mind
Sweeter love than this you'll never find
Cause Jesus died for you

The best thing I can tell you is God loves you
I can say that from my heart and I know it's the truth
The best thing I can tell you is God loves you
And he sent his only son as living proof

Oh I can talk all night until I'm blue in the face
Present my arguments and state my case
But I'd rather tell you about his wondrous grace
Jesus died for you

Now I can't talk about theology
Or dabble in some deep philosophy
Cause it all comes down to what was done on Calvary
And Jesus died for you

Leslie

Well, Bob Bennett did indeed sing it on his album _First Things First_ but Bob did not write it. It was by John Fowler. One of the few songs back in that day...

A joyous new year to all of you. My First Things First cassette is totally unplayable (actually, I wore it out in 1984). I have Lord of the Past, but I miss...
