I see no harm in posting a prayer request.
If for some reason someone didn't like it, they could simply not respond.
It is good for us to reach out to others on our own behalf, or for others' needs.
Your needs are in my prayers.

There have been several times in the past where people (myself included) have posted prayer requests
and concerns on to this group. To the best of my knowledge, they all were warmly received. I see no
particular problem for you to having mentioned this here. There is power in prayer -- my church is
personally seeing that in some miraculous ways. I believe that prayer can make a difference in
situations. I believe that a friend of mine is alive today only because of prayer. As for your original
sharing of concerns -- I trust God shows you His will and His direction through it all.
