Hello Music Makers;

If you own a Native American Flute and have never learned to play it, or if you've always wanted to check one out - now is your chance to to learn from World Flute Artist - Joe Young. Bring your flute if you have one... there will be a few available for workshop use on a first come basis. Workshop $15.00 - ($10.00 for KOSO supporters)

Joe plans to cover the history, techniques and maintenance of the Native American flute - as well as teaching and sharing a few songs. Students will also recieve a packet of information to take home and we will have some flutes in the store that day for sale, built by local maker Travis Crisp. This is a great opportunity at a very reasonable price for anyone interested in flute playing and meeting a local recording artist/teacher.

Joe works in the Boise area as composer, performer, and sound engineer. His debut solo album Pathways was released in June of 2004. His second album “Face the Wind is due out summer 2009. He keeps busy doing solo playing around town as well as playing sax lead with smooth jazz group Möbius Trip. Joe recently came in second place at the 2008 Musical Echoes Flute Players Competition At Fort Walton Beach, Florida

You can reserve a spot by calling Drum Central at 208.424.9519 - or you can show up for the workshop, but space is limited so if you need to use a flute, we will need to know to reserve one for you. Please pass the word to anyone you may know with an interest in these wonderfully simple instruments. Joe plans to have regular workshops and also teaches individual lessons. You can hear samples of Joe's original music at his myspace page: myspace.com/mjoeyoung
