Hi community,
It has been my absolute pleasure to be asked to head up and coordinate a retreat
weekend for women living with HIV and Aids. These women are moms, daughters,
sisters, aunts, etc and live their lives with an illness that often makes them
feel isolated which is not healthy. That is where the Idaho Women's Retreat
(put on by A.L.P.H.A.) comes in. We are offering these women a safe and
nurturing weekend retreat where these women can gather, network, rest, play,
laugh and feel completely pampered.
It is our goal to provide them with services such as:
*massage therapy
*facials and/or make up artistry
*manis and pedis
*hair styling and/or updos
*arts & crafts
*music (like a drum circle)
Due to the financial strain HIV and Aids puts on these women and their families,
we offer this retreat completely free to these women. A.L.P.H.A. is a
non-profit organization, and we can not provide this amazing weekend alone or
without volunteers. That is where you come in.
The retreat is May 23-26 (Memorial Weekend). We would only need volunteers on
the 24th & 25th. For the "body workers" we are asking one 4 hour volunteer
session from 1pm to 5pm. For music and arts & crafts, these times will be
scheduled differently.
If you or someone you know is willing to help with this amazing weekend, please
feel free to contact me at martha@... or call me at 860-3674.
In Joy,
Martha Spiva
