Happy New Year to all you Bombastards & Bombastardettes.

News of The Fall is pretty thin on the ground on Bombast lately, so I
thought I'd give a mention to Gabrielles Wish. An underrated and often
Fall like Manchester band.

I saw these guys lose in the final of a battle of the bands competition
- must be about 8 years ago now, and somehow they are STILL gigging.
Glad to see that its not only asylum seekers milking the UK's creaking
benefits system.

They have supported New Order & The Fall on numerous occasions. There
are many similarities to The Fall(or what it used to be). Thumping
drums,driving bass, swirly keyboard/sounds,great understated guitar and
a singer that - well.... mumbles,growls and staggers around the stage.
I've watched 5 G.W. gigs now and I still can't fathom them out. Well
worth seeing though.

They are appearing at The Witchwood, Ashton-U-Lyne on Tues March 11. A
bargain at just 3 quid. I'll be there and there is at least one other
G.W. fan on Bombast(Pete,I think). To the other 97 of you, give it a
try. I doubt they'll tour the USA(Uther Side of Ashton) so it may have
to be a Bombast charter flight into Manchester.
