"Amon Duul II: the [whatever record label it was] Years" is pretty good
space-rock-y stuff. This bunch was from the same commune as Amon Duul,
but a little more focused musically. "Archangel Thunderbird" is a great
great song..

so, stuff from Raining Milk, and what else? I used to have a cd that
combined two of their albums into one huge mess of stuff that was pretty
great... I forget what two albums though .. I think Alien Soundtracks and
.. um.. I forget..

Apart from their first album, which I think is a bit rough, but still
really good, you can't go far wrong with the Kinks right up through
Village Green Preservation Society, I think. Their earlier ones are
great, and their later-60s ones are too, if a bit artier. Even Muswell
Hillbillies is a great album. I don't have Lola vs. Powerman and the
Money-go-round, but that's probably good too, I'd guess..

oh yeah, you can't go wrong with Savage Republic either. I got the full
set of reissues last year and it was the best thing I got all year, I
think.
