Sorry if you thought it was porn via the subject line, but just music
related stuff.
Saw Gabrielles Wish live on Tuesday at the Witchwood in Ashton and MY
WORD the pre gig publicity on Bombast must have worked. There were
around 50 people in for their set, compared with the usual 20 - the
POWER of the internet, never fails to impress :o)
An excellent set they did as well. Their new album Portal is getting
rave reviews and it looks like they may finally take off. About time to.
I bought the album for 7 quid at the gig and its the best CD I've heard
in 2003. It will certainly be in my player much longer than Unutt -
which is not really a recommendation. I'll do a small review of the
album on Bombast shortly, whilst its quiet on here.
Meantime if you want to see some pics of the Gabs Wish gig at the Castle
in Oldham last year, click here Tina McClelland's brilliant site.

I was at that gig and don't remember anyone taking pictures, but they're
very - well....... arty. There are loads of Tina's fabulous pics on
here covering many bands at UK gigs - even one of MES.
Wonky Alice are also featured and Eves from the Wonkies produced Portal
for Gabs Wish. The album is definitely very Manchester with influences
of the Fall & New Order - both of who Gabs Wish used to support. They
are producing music better than there old masters now.
