The B side of the vinyl 45 is an interesting genre. Some B sides got promoted to A sides and became hits, or received enough airplay to allow both sides of a single to chart. Others showed a different side of the artist, were instrumentals, or appeared on several 45s but never made it on a LP. Some were simply throwaways so the "writer" could share in the A side's potential royalties. This site will specialize in sharing and appreciating the B sides of songs that hit the Top 100 during the 1960's for the most part, with emphasis on the Top 40.

Each week I will feature a different radio station's 60's survey, and post up to 10 B-sides of songs from that chart. The surveys will vary from Billboard's ratings for that week, but that is something that will be a good thing - we'll usually find a surprise or two on each chart. Picture sleeves (US or foreign) with cool shots of this week's artists will also be put up when possible.

If the B side was either lucky enough or good enough to make the national Top 40 it may not be included in the posting. Over time, I will probably be duplicating some songs. I'll try to vary the stations and years each week, but will keep the same time frame for that week and today's date.

Feel free to add 60's (or even late 50's or early 70's) B sides you would like to share. They may be from the USA or the UK. Only thing I ask is that the A side didn't hit the national Top 20 here in the USA.
