Hello to all! I just joined the Cipollina group today. I'm primarilly
interested in the
Quicksilver Messenger Service side of JC's work - I know he's associated with a
plethora of
other bands over the last 30 yrs, but since I'm a student I only have limited
time, and I
figured I'd focus on one of his bands for now. I've really gotten into QMS
over the last
few years - something about the snakey, Deadwood-circa-1895-on-acid guitar work
on
their albums and live stuff really makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand
up.
Unfortunately, my wife is not so enarmored with psychedelic music - recently we
were
listening to (or should I say I was listening to) a QMS boot in the car, and she
hadn't
realized that the CD had repeated a few times while we were listening to it -
she thought it
was actually one very, very long and tedious song. Ah well...

I apologize in advance for my ignorance about how this group works...I have a
few QMS
bootlegs, and I was looking to acquire a few more via trading with people. I
know that the
DimeADozen BitTorrent has a good amount of the QMS shows that I was looking for,
but
unfortunately I don't have broadband at home, and I really don't feel
comfortable
downloading stuff at work. I'm not sure if it would be considered gauche to
list what I was
looking for in this post or not, so what I figured I would do is just throw my
e-mail
address out there, and if anyone is interested in trading QMS boots with me they
could
